Here is what I always do. Go to Cars.com and choose the model you want and select a 500 mile range. Then sort least expensive.

You can also try Freeman Toyota in Hurst, TX (Dallas). Flights are cheap to Dallas from Denver. Try the CarproUSA discount with them too to get a better deal. They also sell SCS wheels, one of the few dealerships that has them in stock.

Q on buying out of state: do I pay twice taxes?
flying to TX , buying there - do I pay TX taxes?
and driving back to CO - registering in CO - taxes to be paid again?

No you do not pay local taxes - you pay the taxes based on where the vehicle will be registered.

Check temp tag laws/restrictions if buying out of state.

States can be different, so talk to the dealer you may buy from and ask them if they know what they are doing regarding out of state taxes.

Another place to check in Arizona would be Camelback Toyota. That's a high volume dealership owned by Buffet. High volume dealers will usually get you the best price.

Also if you are looking for KDSS, Texas is not the place nor any other gulf state. For some reason Toyota won't send a KDSS equipped runner to gulf states. Some will special order them but it is rare. Thus the reason I went to Arizona.

No you do not pay local taxes - you pay the taxes based on where the vehicle will be registered.

This has been my experience. Tax is paid in the state where the. Shocks is registered, not the state where purchased.

True...I just put a deposit down on a KDSS equipped '19 TRD ORP. Local Toyota dealer told me there aren't any KDSS 4Runners in the state. Now I'm on that 3 month ordering wait.

Update on this - dealer will do a factory order for this so no additional accessories, but will honor the 38k price. Chicagoland area. Checking out dealer fees and such now.

Totally agree with the trade-in purchases, they can be real misleading unless that data is supplied. Nobody wants to admit to taking a bath on previous purchase. As far as total price, that can be way misleading with state/local taxes that vary from state-to-state. IMO just state the price before all taxes, each person can then take their situation into consideration.

Just picked up a 2019 White ORP with sunroof, cargo cover and charging package. MSRP was about 41,600 ended up paying 37,155 for the truck before tax tag and title. Dealer was advertising 4k off any new 4runner but didn't have what I wanted in stock so they found me the one I wanted at another dealer and traded them for it. No additional dealer add ons

TX taxes 6.25% added 2514.69.

Then I got the 7yr/125k warranty for 1841.00

So for the vehicle i plan to last 10+yrs all said and done, 44590.69

Not bad, although the "dealer handling" is a BS charge. Did you get a moonroof and a sliding rear cargo deck?
