even though you had equity in the trade I can see why it's hard for some to believe (myself included) that the dealer didn't still low ball that side of the deal to make the numbers work.

No, I paid 35k including tax, title, registration, and any fees. 32.7 was if you take the tax off

Long time Toyota owner, interested in a 4Runner. I'm in Michigan and looking for a 2019 4x4 SR5 or SR5 Premium.

What is an aggressive percentage off MSRP?

Page Toyota in Southfield has a black SR5, MSRP 37,944, listed at 35,383 on their website.....that is just their first advertised price after a 2,561 discount....

So that is about 7% discount, and again, that is just the price posted on their website with no haggle or no negotiation....i assume i could do better than that...

Should I shoot for 10% or more?

Anybody use Costco? Any recommendations, especially in Michigan, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

it would seem to me that as we get closer to 2020s hitting the lots, they should be doing what, 10-13% off MSRP on in stock vehicles? Is that what I should push for? Thanks.

Yeah it looks like it, and it puts it right back in the neighborhood of the msrp of the '18's, where it should have been all along. IMO the jump in price was not warranted just because of a switch to fox, the sunroof and the rack. Good deal!

I am hoping I got a good deal. Here is what mine has below.

MSRP Base $46,355.00
MSRP with all options: $49,317.00

I paid $44,534 before TTL

Added Wheel/Tire protection package for $995 and Lifetime Oil for $649.

Total $46,610.69 before TTL

With TTL $48,811.44 out the door.

Doc fee was only $150, $28 for title fee, $7 inspection, $150 for government license.

MSRP:$38956. We paid $33800 before TTL. 10.2% sales tax ugh. OTD was $37594. Very satisfied with the deal. With lifetime oil changes and state inspection.

Just picked up an off road premium with KDSS. Very uncommon in south eastern new england. They had to relocate it from northern Maine to southeast MA.

MSRP was ~44.5k
got them down to 37.5k + MA state tax and all those title, reg, etc fees.
Total came to around ~38k and change.


Brand new runner, 500 miles on it due to relocation.

No sliding rear cargo unfortunately. But yes to the moonroof, and the TRD stitched synthetic leather seats (not sure if those are standard with the premium). Also, the roof rack running bars are all black, which is a nice little touch I haven't seen before.

All-in-all, I'm happy for that price. I went to a dealership that mostly sells toyota cars models (south of boston) and had like 2 runners and tacomas. so I got them excited for a bigger sale on my terms.

I paid 36250 for a 2018 TRD ORP without KDSS, that's without tax, title, registration, etc. Purchased from Berlin City in Maine, delivered the car to Vermont. Purchased August 2018

Have a quote for a little more than 10% off MSRP, whats confusing is they also show a "retail price" which is lower than MSRP and thought I had seen in some paperwork a "list price".

For a ORP with KDSS and sliding cargo deck have a quote of 39,400. Which I thought was great compared to the MSRP but the paperwork shows the discount off the retail price which was 2K lower than MSRP...MSRP $44,154, Retail Price $42,256.
