How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

From what I saw, Toyota actually took away $500 of incentive money on the 2020 4Runner. I really don't understand this logic. Just does not scream "winning strategy." The local Toyota dealer has sold almost NOTHING in the past month. And they have a sheetload of cars and trucks on their lot.

I looked at the Greater New York and the New England Region and they still have the $500 off.

First post for me guys! We got our 20 ORP a little over a month ago. The msrp on it was 46,895, after all said and done we got it OTD for 45. That everything including trading in my old vehicle and them paying 4k on it to get the title. Which came out to about 39.5k before all the other monies. I think we did pretty good on negotiating for that price. I ended up talking to 4 different dealers and using that to my advantage. that he said she said crap worked great for paying less lol

Where to purchase a TRD OR in DC Metro area and beyond

New to the forum and looking to purchase my first 4Runner in a couple of months once my current lease goes up. Looking for a Gray TRD OR. Anyone know a good dealer I should look into in the DC Metro area or up or down the east coast (ie., NC, DE, NJ, NY, CT, MA, RI, etc...). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

See my post about the deal I got in Massachusetts.

Does anyone know what current rates are from Toyota for excellent credit score? I am close to make a decision on buying or waiting and am seeing pretty big discrepancies in rates.

I'm shopping for a 2020 SR5 4WD here in AZ. Looking for an absolute base model with just mats. I've heard from most dealers in AZ and won't budge off 36k, which comes out to about 8% off msrp, still seems very high compared to other posts. Aiming to be in the 10-13% area, perfect price to me would be 15%. Any tips to nudge them off the 36k or leads on good sales people around here? thanks!

The dealer ran my credit, my score was 832. Even with that score Toyota does not change their APR when purchasing a 4Runner (that's what they told me at least). I took the $500 incentive, then had the finance guy check what APR they could get through "partner institutions" knowing that my bank's starting point was 3.04%. Ended up finding some local credit union that offered 2.45% for 4 years. At that rate I'll spend someone else's money.

I'm in Phoenix, I negotiated 100% through email, and got the numbers in my previous post. Long story short, the only one that actually negotiated and came close was Right Toyota in North Scottsdale. They are high volume, and it was pretty easy to get them down to what I considered fair. It probably helped that they just happened to have a vehicle with the EXACT options I was looking for on their lot. The interactions were pleasant, they were friendly, and (most important to me) they listed a breakout of the numbers when we were negotiating (rather than oops, we under calculated the tax). I'd at least reach out to their "internet manager" to open the conversation.

Everyone else wanted a written offer that they would "beat" however none would say by how much. Basically they didn't want to participate in the negotiations, but would swoop in to get the sale. Most of them were insulting, telling me I couldn't afford the vehicle. Never understood that tactic. The other dealers just felt scummy to interact with.

All that being said, if you really need that % off, you are going to get much further by going in and doing the "I'll buy today" strategy. My impression is that they aren't taking people serious that are just fishing for a deal and aren't actually coming in. If you walk in the door, I bet you could get more $$$ off. Post back here about how it goes. Good luck!

Thanks for the replay. This helps a lot.

I purchased a new 2020 TRD ORP at the end of March in North Scottsdale.

Purchase details:

MSRP: $44,024
Deal Price: $39,774
Trade in: $34,500 2018 TRD ORP 22,000 miles
Rebate/Incentive: $1,000

Difference: $4,274 + title/registration/sales tax on +doc fee ($499).

Bonus: the dealership allowed me to keep the Predator side steps, and swapped the stock wheels for my 2018 TRD wheels with 275 KOs.

My 24 month cost of ownership was less than $200 per month!!

Mind telling me what dealer? I’m on the hunt after our ‘17 got totaled.

Thanks!

I bought from Berge's Riverview Toyota in Mesa, AZ.

My salesmen was Tony Chaudoin, he was fantastic to work with!

He got me an untouchable deal (I shopped like a mad man) and got me accessories at cost and high trade values. A+ service and highly recommended.

If you do end up giving Tony a call, tell him Bryan Azeka sent you. I get a cash referral if you do and you get a referral credit as well. Let me know if you do! I'd love to get more accessories! Thanks!

Bought mine today

New 2020 ORP paid $39,777 OTD $40,824

$7,500 off of MSRP

I had info from other dealers with Gunner Package as leverage. I could do without that. They matched a dealers discount of $4,500 and subtracted the 3,000 for the Gunner package that wasn’t on theirs.

Cox Toyota in NC has some good deals.

So roughly 16% off MSRP? Seems like a great buy!!! What dealer?

Sorry, I’m new to this and just trying to help out. It was 16% off the dealers price not MSRP however the dealer in NC had things listed on their MSRP that was on mine but not the dealers MSRP. It was complicated overall with price matching however it worked out and I’m happy with the deal.
