How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

I live in IA too. I searched for a long time and found several used models that were in my price range but were missing features I wanted. I used cars.com, auto trader and many others and finally found then one I wanted at Hiland Toyota in Moline and drove over and picked it up. It was a dealer demo and I ended up with the Night Shade Limited edition. I bought it 3/7/2020 about a week before the COVID-19 quarantines hit so I have only put a couple hundred miles on it so far.
I love it and was happy with the deal after a couple hours of negotiation. We were able to come to an agreement after adding some money to my trade as they had the demo priced as low as they wanted to deal. They also had some new Off Road 20 models priced about the same price as the one I got but I liked the limited and features with the Night Shade.
Sticker - $47,764
Dealer sale price - $44,500 or so (I don't remember list price)
after negotiating trade they gave me almost $3000 more than first bid on it.
Ended up financing about 15K.

Purchased my ORP in Feb '19 from Brookfield Toyota in Wisconsin (Milwaukee). Handled everything over e-mail and ended up 9% off MSRP. If price is key metric of experience they were fine. The pick-up of the car sucked ass. Having been e-mailed the contract in advance it still took 4-5 hours to walk out with the keys. So **** them.
Don Jacobs Toyota in Oak Creek, WI (Milwaukee) was also easy to work with over e-mail. Essentially same price.
St. Charles Toyota (Chicago) also a pleasure to work with over e-mail/phone and a competitive price.
If I'd do it all over again I'd probably go with St. Charles. They aren't a part of the Napleton chain.

Is ~10% below MSRP including the $500 rebate during this economy still considered a good deal?
I’m trying to get an ORP with KDSS for around 40,500 before tax and license and the best I have been offered is around 41,200. So I’m looking for closer to 11.5%
I do not buy new vehicles often and don’t wanna get taken to the cleaners, but I don’t want to spin my tires in place Endlessly if it’s unlikely to be attainable. I’m in the Bay Area which probably doesn’t help my case.

Ok this one is MSRP of 45,934 and best I’ve been able to find is around 41,200. Offered 45k OTD including taxes which is 700-800 off from where they are now and there was no further negotiation just a No so I walked away for now.
I’d probably have even settled If they offered to meet me in the middle but for now just gonna wait and see.

I think should go for at least 10% off based on this thread.
Checking inventory of nearby toyotas in my area they have more stock than usual. With the current situation I doubt they are selling many cars.. if you are patient you can get the price you want.
$41,200 is an 'above average' price according to most online websites, so I wouldn't worry about losing out on it. It will be here..
after a month and a half of emailing and negotiating via email/phone with almost all Toyota dealerships from the Antelope Valley down to San Diego, California... I finally found my mall crawling soulmate at Huntington Beach Toyota!

I bought a silver ORP w/ sunroof, racks, rubber mats for approximately 10% off MSRP in December. Also got a nice discount on a few parts - better than on-line. Kendall in Eugene Oregon and Cameron was my salesman - super easy transaction, all over the phone and they even delivered the car to me in Portland.

Not sure it is buyer's market. Production was halted until mid April, no recent info if it has resumed. Dealers may not feel need to move inventory except with financing incentives close to msrp.
Did read an article that lease returns may be the best bargain due to large inventory of preowned. Dealers may possibly offer lease extensions.

gives it a mild-moderate growl on acceleration. Not annoying or drone-like at all. can still hold a convo just fine in the cabin. wife likes the sound over stock quiet 4runners. It'll sing decently if your floor it, but i rarely do that unless i have to.
Meh, the basket is going to get tossed to my brother anyway. My cousin works for a fab company here in so cal and they're getting into designing full racks and CAIs for 4runners this year. He's prototyping on his gen4 right now, then im bringing in my gen5. yay for free full rack! He said he'll even CAD up a ladder option as well. I told him to ask his boss if they were going balls deep with other stuff. I'm gonna ask him to get into tire carriers too! more free prototypes for meeee.
On a side note:
Went for a Sunday stroll.
the poppys are looking great already!

Been negotiating quite a bit over the last week or two, and I have a dealer down to 36,200 for TRD ORP w/o moonroof (I'm 6'6). It's in Magnetic Grey Metallic, but I was in between that and Super White. Mainly, just SW for the pin stripe hiding and cleanliness. Is this a great deal and I just need to take my second color choice? OTD is going to be about 38k and MSRP was 43,500.
