How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

If I pay MSRP for a 2020 and trade it in for a 2021 how much of a financial hit am I going to take once everything's said and done?
why would you want to pay MSRP? and why would you trade a 2020 for a 2021? most likely, the 2021 models will be the same as the 2020.

Finally got one!

Olympia, does deal, they just offered me 11% off on a limited. Considering it but not sure it is worth parting with my '19 Pro.

Alright finally, spoke to a different salesperson and got a great deal at Olympia.

40.5K ORP with KDSS & moonroof!

Only problem now is the color, this one is metallic grey , Im thinking white might be better =P.

Seeing lots of 2020's below MSRP by $2-3k in the southeast, but having multiple dealers giving me the "demand is going to increase in the coming weeks" talk. I don't really buy into that from an economic perspective.

I'm looking to buy into a 5th gen coming from a 2006 Land Cruiser. If anybody wants to trade, I've got the difference in cash.

44k out the door in Cobb County, GA for a 2020 Blue ORP with KDSS is what I was told the "all in" price was, as a reference point for others.

I see a few people on these forums who keep trading their TRDP in just to keep getting the newest exclusive color. I was just wondering what sort of costs this behavior incurs

These are stealerships we're talking about. I wouldn't be surprised if they're parking the vehicles in a remote lot somewhere to give the illusion of demand. Don't fall for their tricks. Think of it this way, if people are buying, why would a company limit supply? They wouldn't. They're limiting supply because not many are buying.

I would usually agree with you because stealerships and sales guys are always playing games.

Made appointment to talk to internet manager for a specific stock #. Their website had 3 white trd orp with non kdss, moonroof. I arrived and he said the one I wanted is not available. I was fine because there should be two more. We walked out to the lot to find a white one, couldnt find any so i decided to test drive a magnetic gray with same options. Sales guy backed out the gray and took it around the whole dealership looking for a white. We found a white one that has "sold" tag on the rearview mirror hidden away upstairs on the garage and then we do the dance...

Fast forward 3 days, and no TRD OR or TRD ORP super white are listed on their page anymore. As well as their total number of 4runners went from 66 to 58. Seems as Arizona is hot for car sales right now

Asking him to trade for a white and then we can deal.

Anyone got any dealer recommendations out in Norcal? I don't have any particular preference in package and a base 4x4 SR5 should suffice for me needs. (I don't plan to crawl or do anything hardcore). I was recently quoted $37,350 + TTL for a base 2020 SR5... any thought?

I picked up a '20 Pro for $1k under MSRP in Denver last week, but I also had a trade in, so who really know what I paid :D For what its worth, dealer matched the CarMax offer on the trade.

Sadly most non T4R forum people in the Bay Area pay close to MSRP even for a basic SR5 because they have the money or don’t care.

However you can get at least $4000 off MSRP without even trying hard from Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa. Then use that as leverage to match or get a better deal from your local dealer. That’s what I and some other Bay Area members had to do.

Location dependent, on the west coast 40.5k was the best I could find, with TTL its 45k. I sent my quote to several dealers from Cali to WA and they all said it was a great deal at 40.5k. I was orginally shooting for 39.5k which I managed to get for just ORP + KDSS but no moonroof. I would say with moonroof 39.5 - 40.5 would be a great price. Who knows hertz just declared bankruptcy and if the decide to unload 500k+ used cars, deals might get better ?

This thread was helpful during my shopping, thought I'd chime in as well. Paid $38.2k for a ORP before TTL yesterday. MSRP was $43.9k.

Anyone get a dealership to offer the 0% APR and 90 days differed payment on a 4Runner ? Tried to get my dealership to do it but they said it requires the dealer to “buy down” the APR which gets slapped onto the price in the long run. Only place I’ve seen it done was Hawaii.

Who knows. Combination of Memorial Day sales and low sales might allow them to do it.

Not specific to Toyota, but the few times I've talked to people who got 0% APR on their vehicles, they were also people who pay the listed ask on a vehicle.

So, what your guy told you sounds pretty accurate.

The way to get a lower price is to allow them to give you a crappy APR loan, then either pay it off or refinance immediately with your own credit union. An extra $1000 off a sales price is, mathematically, more important than a difference in apr.

Edit: figure I should elaborate... A dealer who finances you, might have you approved at 2.5%, so they present you with a 4.9% loan, and keep the 2.4% for themselves. So, they'll give a lower sales price knowing they're getting it anyway through financing.

Looks like prices have gone up substantially in the past year. Back in August of '19 the going price on a ORP w/o KDSS or Moonroof was less than 36k on this thread. I got cold feet and decided to wait...

Regretting that, now.

Interesting idea! It used to be always pay cash for the best deal but now the dealers seem to be moving into the finance side for a lucrative revenue stream.

Would this be true in Canada? Isn't there usually a fee to apply for credit with them?

What dealership did you go to if you don't mind sharing? I am in the market currently for a 20' ORP or Pro in Denver area. Did you have a good experience?

Remember, there is about $3K added in base price to all 2020 4Runners for the refresh. Toyota safety sense, new head units and center displays, more models with push button start, etc.
