How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

A dealership out here is trying to get me in a 2021 TRD Pro in Mag Gray for $6k over MSRP.

Granted it's been 5 years since I've looked at prices, but that still seems crazy high to me. Is this the new "normal" for the TRD Pros?

Edit: they just quoted $64,990 OTD. That’s crazy for a Toyota lol.
That is crazy. My cousin just put a deposit on one. 51,700 sticker. Paid 50,800 plus TTL. We’re in Illinois. He’s getting it out of Iowa.

Has anyone place a factory order for 2021 ORP recently ? I am in PA and have a difficulty getting quotes, or dealers wants me to come in. I am looking for combo not available in my area, but it is build in southeast. The only offer I have so far is 1 K off MSRP, is that that the best I should expect?

Call these guys. They are in Lancaster MA. Ask for the internet sales manager. See my post on them in this thread. They have a set fee of $500. Post #6676 has price attachment etc.

Try to get a Pro now for less than $3,000 OVER MSRP. Not happening in the Southeast.

For shits and giggles, called on a Kia Telluride as well - they wouldn't budge on $6,000 OVER MSRP.

Crazy times.

Ha 3 different families in my neighborhood have gotten brand new tellurides/palisades.

I just got offered a '21 TRD ORP with KDSS and Sliding cargo for $46,950 OTD in California. Is this a good deal? Looks like MSRP on this truck is 46,150.

I'm in the market for a 2021 White ORP with KDSS with no other options/accessories.

TLDR: Dealer may cave to $43,000 (or $43,800) minus trade in plus doc fees/taxes. Is this decent, given the times?

First post, long story:

Dealer 1: Had one on the way but with lots of other options like moonroof, running boards, Pro wheels, AW mats ($45000) Didn't want to pay all that extra so i asked to order to my liking. Apparently Toyota doesn't let you order and I could only buy what they make. So I asked why the builder exists on the website. Dodged that question. Left after they wouldn't order anything for me to my specs. My last words are I bet you i can find someone to build me something.

Dealer 2: nothing in inventory. Said they could do a locate and would not negotiate pricing. I left immediately. **** those guys.

Dealer 3: Agreed to build from factory. offered it to me for $43,725 before taxes. They show me the price list with all this garbage tacked on and the grand total was $57,000. :wtf: Told them to take that off immediately and they said that this is standard procedure for all their vehicles. (Nitrogen in tires, ceramic coating on paint plus paint protection film, tire insurance, window etching, gap insurance, etc etc.) They eventually caved to $43,725 plus dealer fees/doc fees which were for some reason, split into two itemized prices at $699 and $400. Called them out on that and said i have never paid more than $600 in my life. They would not budge.

Went back to dealer 1 and said to beat $43,000 with an order from the factory. They said they think they can beat it (or match it) Doc fees $599 plus taxes.

My evo X trade in will knock it down so taxes are going to be a 1/3 vs full tax.

Looking back at the Dealer 1's offering of $45000 with extras, that could be worth it.

$56k otd for ‘21 Pro. SETF add-ons included: paint film, predbars, cargo slide/cover, dual front usb chargers, interior/exterior light package, key replacement plan, blacked emblems.

Was getting quotes from 58-60 otd regularly for less optioned Pros.

I went thru that crap in NJ. Call the people in MA that I posted about in this thread. They were better than the people in North and South Carolina too that I contacted however I did have one pretty good deal come from that area.

Purchased 2020 ORP with KDSS from AutoNation of Leesburg, VA
Color: MGM
MSRP: $46,103
Purchase Price: $40,677
OTD: $42,500

1st, this is a really good buy. Congrats
2nd, this is the format everyone should post their buys in. Give us MSRP and the actual purchase price of the 4runner. Plain and simple. Thank you.

2021 off-road premium. No other options except $169 LED fogs. Apparently they are a step above the standard led fogs Msrp 43,644. Agreed to $40,400 and throwing in black out emblem overlays and black chrome exhaust tip. Tax and $180 doc fee on top of that. This is in Iowa. $750 rebate right now in this region.

That's a heck of a deal. :hatsoff:

I’m pretty happy with it. Toyota dealer in my home town. Basically $200 over invoice and then the rebate off of that. Also got them to throw in the emblem overlays and black chrome exhaust tip. I was hoping to get it down to invoice but they played hardball. So I asked them to throw in the emblems and exhaust tip and they did.

Would you consider trying selling that car privately, instead of as a trade-in? It's an enthusiast's car and you could probably get a lot more than a dealer will offer. One of the dealers near me offered $16K trade-in for my 2012 Tacoma (4 door short bed, TRD-OR, 4x4, 6MT). I sold it privately in less than two weeks for $24K. Sure I dealt with a few tire-kickers, but it was worth $8K.

I thought about it but I'm waiting to see what the dealer will offer for it. Carvana is offering about $30k. Kbb prices it at about the same. Plus or minus a grand. Worst case scenario I'll pull out of the negotiating with their low ball offer and peace out. I can wait for the right one. Nj is also one of the states that applies tax after the trade in reduces the amount. Then a financing plan will ultimately be the final invoice. Rates are pretty high I think so I could save a few grand by trade in.

Carvana and Vroom have really changed the trade-in game. I sold our 4runner to Carvana and it could not have been easier. Dealer offered $29k o trade-in, Carvana came to my house 3 days later with a check for $35k. Too easy.

On the flip side: Carvana offered me $9,700 for my shoreline blue pearl 2011 trail with 140k miles. I sold it privately for $21k...quickly. If you've got a car that's just a few years old, low mileage and in good shape, the online retailers/buyers make really good offers! They obviously don't want the older/high mileage stuff.

Thats good to hear. I did notice that Carvana was priced about 4-5k higher on a used 2020 4runner from what I paid for a new one.

Some people really like the ease and simplicity of buying online and home delivery with no "dealership experience". Not me, I love "the art of the deal". Well really I just love haggling with dealers and calling them on their bs.
