How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

I reserved one at MSRP today for a white ORP with no moonroof, KDSS, cargo tray, and a few other small extras. I talked to over 30 dealerships and only two of them had allocations for an ORP with no moonroof (this white one and another in MGM). It's about 6 weeks out from delivery. Other dealerships were saying minimum of 2-4+ months for ordering one. I'm happy to be done with my search but geez :doh:

I'm curious to see how much the price jumps next year...

I got $2k off MSRP on a 2021 SR5 Premium with moonroof. I looked all over and I think $2k is an average “good deal”. I saw $2500 off, but a long way from home, as in 1,000 miles away. Since I got exactly what I wanted for trade, I stayed local.

I was looking just for fun recently (would like to get a different color than super white now) and dealerships in Oregon are not budging off of MSRP, even when using Costco. Most 4Runners are sold before hitting the lot or within hours thereof.

Going to a dealership tonight to look at a freshly off the truck TRD Off-road.

Sticker is $41,600 dealer said they would take a thousand off and give me 500$ more for my trade than any written offer.

We’ll see. I’m in Orlando for reference but the going rate around here seems to be pretty close to sticker. I’m going to try to get below 40 though.

$1000 is the “Keep It Wild Cash Savings” and trade is about the only thing left they’ll budge on. The trend in this thread is that dealers won’t discount MSRP past manufacturer incentives.

Thanks for the heads-up. I’ll report back how it goes tonight I have a couple dealers I’m working with so hoping to squeeze somewhat of a deal out.

Late Feb. bought a venture w/ kdss for 43.3k in north bay area using Costco auto program. Took a while to find a combination of model/color we wanted, and even then had to put down a deposit on an inbound due to lack of supply.

If using Costco make sure to plug in different zip codes in different areas, since Costco will only connect you with the closest dealer by zip entered, and even regionally dealerships' Costco pricing can be wildly different. Had two other dealers with in-stock models refuse to go below ~45k with Costco pricing, even after telling them I had better pricing elsewhere, because they know they'll find a buyer who either won't go through Costco or won't call around. Crazy tight market for a 4runner now.

Called a local dealership to ask about a LR TRD Pro. By dumb luck, they have one inbound this week! Paid MSRP at 52k.

I can't even get dealers to contact me in AZ. Everything on their website is sold by the time it's even posted. People are being stupid and getting worked up into a frenzy paying msrp.

Slightly below. Only showed individual Costco sheets on a per-model basis, but were happy to show me for any I requested. Same experience at all Costco program dealerships in the area, although their claimed invoice prices fluctuated at some. And of course, Toyota doesn't allow below MSRP on Pro models, so they aren't part of the program.

How does Costco pricing work once you have sent in your information to Costco?
Does Costco give you a price for a vehicle and you contact the dealer? Or does the dealer contact you. I have never went through Costco so I would like to know what to expect.

$42,754 OTD price on TRD Off Road in Orlando.

Negotiated $1,700 off MSRP and the dealer matches the highest written offer I had for my trade in (2016 Honda HRV).

With Trade, the cost came out to $34,000 even. I threw an additional 7k cash down for a 60 month Finance amount of $27,000 @ 2.55%.

I also got the dealer to throw in Weathertec mats for the entire vehicle which I think ends up being around 200$.

Not a great deal but I was fine with it. Dealers can’t keep them in stock here, they get 1-2 in and they’re gone in 2 days. I had multiple dealerships refuse to go anything off sticker.

Bonus for me was I watched this vehicle get taken off the truck and was the first person to drive it. Had 3 miles on it @ delivery.

If anyone is in this area looking I can give you some insight on what dealers to avoid to save you time.

FYI, “invoice” price means nothing. That price doesn’t factor in any incentives the dealer receives.

I paid $37k for my new ORP in June of 2018, no big negotiation, $3k off MSRP was just what the local dealer offered as "internet pricing". Hearing some anecdotes and seeing this thread, I entered my specific car info into KBB and it came back $39k as the low end of dealer trade in, and $42k for low end of private party sale. Really? I don't want to sell, but I'm just amused that a new car purchase can be an appreciating asset! It's nuts, just like the housing market.
