How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Great looking 4runner (and my preferred color/trim combo, but still waiting...) but holy hell that shop is amazing. Nicely done, sir.

I was not sure about the magnetic gray.....but was not ready for Lime Rush, and while the Lime Rush looks better live than in the photos, I just thought the gray would be more practical.
I had an opportunity to do that build out with a clean sheet of paper.........my wife got her restoration project (the cottage) - I got a mulligan to build a garage.

You have the priorities right --- KDDS matters! The camera thing- could be helpful, but my first reaction is that its a nice to have - vs. a "got to have it".
The video quality is weak, but will get a better feel for it when I get back in the spring.
There are a lot of BR(s) in south west florida, they really are stunning in the bright sun.
Well --- misbehaving has consequences!
GLW it ----
First World problems, right? That said, I pulled the new 4R into the garage for the first time tonight, a bit of a tight squeeze. The first thing I thought of is, you guessed it, "Sure would have been nice to have that MTM right about now!" LOL! I'll get used to the garage clearance soon, but just sayin'.
Right now, I love discovering all the little things I didn't even know existed in new cars. I'm like a little kid!
BTW, this is out first vehicle with 21st Century LED headlights...OMG, these things are BRIGHT!

Hey crew!

I am finally in a hunt for a new 2022 ORP in Lunar Rock or Army Green.
Have to have KDSS. Really want to have Premium Package for MTM, but
few of the dealers I have spoken to didnt even see an ORP with this option
in Pacific North West. I did put a $500 Deposit with Toyota of Marysville.

BUT I really am trying to get one sooner. Any of you guys can point me in a
right direction? I am willing to drive if needed.

What is a strategy here to get one allocated at least?

Dick Hannah Toyota in Kelso has an ORP in Lunar Rock. No KDSS though. Link to the window sticker.

Talk to Harry. He'll take good care of you. Good luck!

2022 Lunar Rock OR (regular)

Picked up at heyward Allen Toyota in Athens, Ga
MSRP from Toyota: $41,435
Keep it wild savings: -$500
Delivery fee: $1215
Pred Bars: $719
Hood, mirror, door paint pro: $618
Toyoguard Prem: $699
Black overlays: $229
LED interior Lights: $209
Phone cables / USB ports: $209
Cargo mat: $199
All weather floor mats: free thrown after price agreement.
Cargo cross bars: Permitted to keep off trade

TOTAL MSRP: $45,032
Dealer add: $899 *see below for details
Trade: $36450 *see below for details

Admin Fee: $599
Reg Fee: $79
Ga TAVT tax: $670.50 (assessed on difference between trade and new)
State Reg Fee: $18
State Warranty Rights fee: $$3

OTD Price all in - $10,850.49
I got financing at PenFed for 1.9% for 60 months

*Dealer added protection features: $899 - could not remove. Included window tint on front 2 windows, pulse brake light with some type of $3K insurance that if I am rear ended and it totals the 4runner, I get 3K off a replacement. Also value shield insurance, but its only good for one year. Protects against diminished value during a trade if there was an accident.... so basically $899 for tint and a flashing brake light.
I got them to allow me to keep the luggage rack cross bars from my trade and throw in all weather toyota mats - so it helped a little with the $899 sting.

*$36,450 trade on my 19' SR% (title in hand) with 26K miles. $450 higher vs next dealer, who was cheaper MSRP, but with the increased trade, plus floor mats and cross bars was a near wash in OTD

It's more complicated than that. The 2008 crash happened because we were massively over-leveraged as a culmination of the financialization of everything which started in the early 80s. It's why college and houses are such a ripoff that you need 2 people working and borrowing to acheive what 1 person working at a factory used to achieve (raising a family in the suburbs).

We never fixed 2008 we just printed more and more money until something finally broke, the crisis never ended the USA has simply been living off a credit card since 2008, which we can do as long as we can shoot and bomb the crap out of anyone who doesn't go along with it. We went from a gold backed dollar in the 70s to a lead and plutonium backed dollar. Well it finally broke and things could get very hairy short-term until we build the facilities to start producing everything we need domestically. We're seeing the end of globalism. Long-term this is good national security. And bad for the rent-seeking grifting cunts on Wall Street and anyone else who survives by skimming money out of thin air.

LOL! You think "Brandon" raised the price of gas .84 cents overnight? Oil companies could pump more oil on leases they already have, but right now, they're taking advantage of the news on the price of oil and sneaking in a much larger increase than the price of oil should reflect, and printing money. That's Capitalism's ugly side - greed.

I'm no Economist, just speculating, but agree the cost for gasoline is more complicated, but you can't say some of it isn't just plain old Profit Taking oil companies know can sneak in, just like the price we pay in California isn't totally explained by our cleaner blend of gas. They call that gouging, and it's happening to many other price points for things across the board, not just the price of gas.

We have been living off those cheap money interest rates for a loooooooooong time now. Is the party over, or is this persistent inflation transitory and will subside after the Supply Chain issues are resolved? I agree we need to do more manufacturing here at home, but do we have a workforce up to the task? And, the reason corporations went to Asia for manufacturing was to lower labor and overhead costs. Bringing jobs back means more inflationary pressure.

Sounds like someone with some "wishfull thinking" about buying a new vehicle without the crazy markups that are out there today

The gas prices are all driven by the commodity sector not what the presidents says or war (not saying that those two things don't effect what commodity traders base their trading logic on), so if barrels trade for 100 dollars a barrel Friday morning and 123 friday afternoon, gas prices follow suite.

I'll buy a new transmission or engine before I buy a new car. New cars are the biggest waste of money next to a liberal arts degree. Or buying a house at the peak of an obvious bubble like everyone seems to think us a great idea at the moment. My pretty average house is gaining $14k in equity a MONTH in NEBRASKA. It's absolutely retarded and somewhat terrifying tbh. There's no way to actually realize those gains unless I sell and move to Thailand or someplace though.

These days gas prices are driven by DAVOS. The oil and gas companies cant get investment like they used to because of climate policy, so they can't easily switch up production, so prices are high. Climate policies which are starting to look like they came from a Russian/Chinese propaganda psyop. Which Europe is now dealing with the consequences of and desperately scrambling for nuclear power, fuel for which largely comes from Russia.

Germany is in a world of hurt, since they freaked when Fukushima happened and dropped their nuclear power.

I don't want to derail what should be a chill thread for new 4runner owners any further so this is the last one I promise. Read my previous post for my gas pricing interpretation. If you want to talk gouging we should be looking at the car manufacturers who figured out during covid that they make more profit by PURPOSEFULLY limiting supply of vehicles.

Lower costs from off-shoring was required to enable the kind of leverage that created the 2008 crisis. The cost of labor in China has actually increased something like 14x since we've been doing that. They also have a horrific demographics problem which will makes it totally unsustainable. What actuallly happening is the USA's and China's standard of living will start to equalize (in the bad way) until we get that stuff back over here. They already stole all our IP and now attempting to switch to domestic production AND consumption like we have to. Not to mention stuff like the 90% of complex ICs that are produced in Taiwan which has just become a glaringly obvious national security issue.

It really isn't too much more complicated than that when it comes to fuel prices... 2020 was a bad year for oil. The barrel price went into the negatives for a few days. Lockdowns caused people to drive less, demand went down, and oil companies lost. Now they're trying to make up for those losses by ceasing production and jacking up the price because "not enough supply". It's not Putin or "Brandon", just simple greed in this case.

It's great for those of us in the oil/gas industry and all the politicians who receive "donations" from the profits, but not so much for everyone else.

I’m in Texas looking for a 2022 ORP w/ KDSS & moon roof in lunar rock from another state. I’ve been quoted $46K MSRP from two Colorado dealerships. One needs a $500 deposit and the other needs $1000. One also charges a surcharge of $1K for lunar rock. Have y’all had similar experiences with prices? Is there no “haggling” right now?

That's pretty good compared to what's available in Florida especially if you're saying the non-Lunar Rock would be at MSRP with no markup. $1K markup is still pretty good. Are you sure they're not adding a mandatory dealer options package? I've seen them range from $1K-5K.

Was in contact with over 30 of our local and not so local dealers in last few days.

All I can say is WOW, there are some serious shortages, wait listing, deposit requiring and price gauging going on. Some seriously offensive Dealer installed "packages" and "Market Adjustments"

But Majority of our local Dealers are still selling at MSRP I would say about 80% of Dealers starting in Bellingham, WA and ending Eugene, OR. It is very refreshing to see.

Should be starting to see the demand go lower with fuel prices so high, the demand for smaller suvs and 4 cylinder cars should be going up.

we are seeing some crazy markups submitted to our site by 4runner buyers. Definitely lots of 2500-5000 addons like nitrogen filled tires and tint getting tacked on as markups!

Anyone have any leads on a TRD Pro (not green) that's actually available? Long shot, I know...

Someone ran into one of my cars and totaled it and I need to replace it soon. Wasn't planning on buying a new car right now but here we are. Insurance already stopped paying for the rental, so I'm down a car which is why I can't wait 6-8 months. One of my local dealers says they have 52 people on a wait list for one and they all have deposits (I don't believe him but whatever).
