How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

I hated the overely aggressive look when the 5th Gen first came out, but now that they've been out for a good long while, like the "blockiness" of the design. It's modern, yet doesn't look like all the other streamlined scowly front ends, makes it's own "statement".

Yup.

I too thought the 4Runner was not the most attractive rig when the 5th gen came out (partially because I liked the look of the 4th gen more.)

These days, all of the compact and mid-size crossovers look the same. All of the full-size pickups look the same, including the new Tundra.

The 4Runner stands out because it has not followed suit. When the 6th gen is finally released, it will probably be from an aesthetics point of view, just as boring as every other model out there - rectangular grille, pop-up infotainment screen, digital tach/odometer, no rear power window, etc. Yawn.

To the point of the thread, I'm paying $46,500 for my TRD ORP, before tax.
 
Drove by Concord (CA) Toyota yesterday and the inventory was very very sparse. Just about everything they had was a used car.

For us, we love the aggressive look of the 5th gen. I love the utilitarian interior, but could still be happier with fewer gizmos. After over a year, I barely use any of them. The most useful is the rear backup camera. That said, I do wish it had a front view camera.

Did you see California just passed a law that no new gasoline powered cars would be able to be sold after the year 2035?

Lots will look pretty sparse then too...lol

Yeah, no more gasoline powered vehicles….so they say “buy an electric car”.

Then they said….hey, don’t charge your electric vehicles.

Oh, and the power grid can’t support all electric vehicles…..and oh my we can’t have fossil fuel or nuclear.

Politicians….talking in circles.

Hoppy hits the nail on the head.

They will also ask you to keep your EV plugged into the grid so the utilities can draw on the energy stored in the cars batteries. What could go wrong?

Don’t run your AC to stay cool on record heatwave or we’ll shut it off for you. And heaven forbid you let your kids run thru the sprinklers to cool off.

Hmm...

I'd bet a dollar that gas cars will still be sold in Cali in 2035 and beyond. What's happening right now is posturing to a very specific donor class and fan base.
 
Prices & Taxes

I'm not sure how it is with other states. Here in California, they tax everything. As cars get older, I expect the depreciation would effect the reg fees. Nope! The out the door price with taxes is crazy! Even used Toy's are really high. I hope there is some relife in the future!
 
I paid MSRP + tax, title and the dealer’s $499 “doc fee” for my ‘22 ORP w KDSS. Picked it up yesterday.
