I put a deposit on a TRD Off Road yesterday. It has been en route for about a month, so I assume it should be here within another month… I paid sticker after looking for a week or so and assuming there were no “deals” to be had.
There was only one TRD off road in stock in the Kansas City area (that I found) and they wanted 3k over sticker. Lots of dealers show vehicles in stock, but they are either sold or haven’t been delivered to the dealer yet.

If you don’t mind can you pls share the dealer details? That’s like 4K off, which in unheard of. I dont see any availability for srp in Boston area.

I second that!! Installed the Dr. KDSS on my 2021 and wish i would have done it a year and a half ago. The ability to turn it off on a washboard road is huuuge. You can now have your cake and eat it too!!
Along with the Bilstein 6112/5100 and SuperSprings bump stops, it just eats up bad roads.

I saw this price on their ad in January on some of the sites ( caredge.com ? cargurus.com ? autotrader.com? ), contacted them, they told that this vehicle was already sold, but they have an identical one for the same price already allocated, with delivery in February - March. I gave $500 refundable deposit, then got the vehicle a week ago.
Back in December 2022, there was SR5 4WD for sale $2,522 below MSRP (of $42,387), without state registration/tax.
A dealer posted an add with this price on cargurus.com with this price;
during the email negotiations they tried the usual tricks to inflate the OTD price to MSRP+$4,000, but quickly rolled back to the ad price.
I tried to reduce it more, because I did not need the manufactured-installed options that accounted for $900 of MSRP.
They did not budge. So I did not buy it.
The bottom line, SR5 4WD for $2,522 below MSRP do exist.
The dealer was Lithia Toyota of Klamath Falls, Klamath Falls, OR.

I'm new here from Oklahoma and had originally been looking for the TRD Off Road Premium in Nautical Metallic Blue or Barcelona Red, but prices are starting at $52K. One dealer said I can get a red or blue TRD ORP for $56K.
My budget is $50K, and I've settled on the TRD Sport 4WD as my wife has always liked the Limited, and this was the closest I could do. I hope I didn't screw up with XREAS. Please forgive me.

Not sure if 50K includes everything but I could get orp with a few calls to dealers in the area. They all are selling at msrp and I could find the one with least port add ons.
At msrp this will be below your budget. May not be if you add TTL (not sure how much tax is there).

Any recommendation for dealership near Seattle which does not charge crazy markups?
Two dealers quoted me $6k-$8k markup (at least they've been honest upfront on phone call), while other dealer wanted to add some mandatory "packages" for similar price.
Last dealer told me MSRP but that they don't know when it would be available - that employees are also on wait list and have higher priority - so "when nobody wants it you can get it"...

In my limited experience I’d say keep calling increasing your radius where you live. I found it was easier to get dealers to talk to me when I called outside of Boston metro area. Maybe most people give up after calling their dealers in highly populous area and some of the more rural areas might have allocations that don’t get sold immediately [emoji2371]

I see on my build sheet (they called it a window sticker) $2597.00 port installed packages and accessories...
Can you tell me what that charge is?

It should have details of all packages in same sheet, no? I have around a $800 PIO — roof rack cross bars, cargo tray etc. the spec sheet is 2 page long with PIO and FIO breakup.

Picked up my 4th 5th gen a couple weeks ago. Originally began looking for another Off-Road Premium but there was nothing available anywhere close. Everything was pre-sold and it was 50/50 if the dealer was over MSRP or not. Decided to expand my search criteria to include the Pro. Again nothing available, everything presold, and most were over MSRP. Those that weren’t charging over had long wait lists.
I happened to notice a large influx of Solar Octane Pro’s in the area one day while searching Cars (auto populated inventory for inbound vehicles) and I made a couple inquires to various dealers. One called me a couple hours later to tell me that they had one available because the original person that ordered it backed out. Told me it was at MSRP and I told them I’d take it right then and there. It was at the port in CA so a couple of weeks later it showed up and I took it home. Paid $56,800 and they gave me over book for my trade-in RX350. I was very happy considering Colorado’s market in 4Runners is crazy.
If you have no patience then you’re either gonna pay a markup cuz they dealers have the advantage, or your probably gonna have to travel to grab one of the more desirable trims. If you do have patience, then you can get what you want while not paying BS dealer add on “market adjustments.” A little luck doesn’t hurt either.

I’ll look at it closer, but I’m relieved it’s not just dealer marked up that I missed initially.
Any guess how long it had been in port prior to you making the purchase?
Mine hit port over the weekend and they said it would probably be 3-5 weeks before it would make its way to the KS dealer.
I’m just trying to gage how long it will be before I get to set eyes on it.

My username is still accurate, but thinking of trading up to a 2023 4Runner *** if *** it’s going to be changing for 2024.
There have been some features that were added in 2022 (surround camera) and 2023 (heated steering wheel) and I’d like to have those options without having to retrofit anything myself.
Am I missing any other features that were added?

2022 got full LED headlights, high & low beam. DRL remains halogen, but you can change that.
Heated steering would be nice.
As for changes in 2024….. we’ve been hearing this for a couple years now, so no way to know for sure. I’d jump on the 2023 if you found one you like, because it would suck to find out of a change too late and miss out on the one you really want.
If I ran Toyota, I’d introduce the new model, but would keep making the current version at the “4Runner Heritage Edition” and only in Off-Road Premium trim with a set of fixed options. This would give the off-road crowd a solid, reliable, and well respected platform.
