How much corn should I eat?

I just spent 4 hours reading cornfed lift threads from the search button, all good reviews... My eyes are twitching and I feel like I am going to PUKE from looking at the computer screen for so long. (quality time spent for a Friday night!!!)

I am trying to figure out what size spacers I should get. I just need a little push from you guys!!!

I want to go with 2.5'' in the front and 2'' in the rear... (huh 2'' in the rear, that was a gross thought)

anyway, most of you guys have the standard 3'' front 2'' rear kit.

I want to order the kit right now, but I told Jason on the phone I am having trouble making a decision. He suggested 2'' in front and 1'' in rear. AHHHH!!!
-I do not plan to do any serious off roading, just some trails.
-I will put larger tires on, but nothing that requires trimming.


Someone please help me with my decision

good luck making your decision...I think I've decided on the 1" front like Deputy did...the back sits pretty high already...upsize your tires to 265/70/17 and it will look great! thats just my opinion though...

Yeah I still have no idea what size spacers to get, but I will go with bigger tires onces the dunlops wear down, probably 265/70 or 75/17 not sure yet...

The amount of lift required will be dependent on what size tire you ultimately go with.

Personally I would do

1" front or 1"F/1"R like snap315's truck or 2"F/1"R like jason suggested at most,but thats just me, I think the full blown 3/2 lift looks like its too much for this vehicle unless you do the 285 tires.

Here is my thoughts on this. Even if you go to a 3"F/2"R ( like most here do ) you will still be able to only fit 265/70/17 ( which you can fit no problem on a stock T4R ) unless you do major trimming to fit 285/70/17 ) dont know if you want to do that to your truck for the little benefit you get from a 285 if any , besides looks.

Also the thing I like about the smaller lifts is that it doesn't take away from from handling . By that I mean getting a higher center of gravity.

I like the look thats not over kill , where some other T4R guy looks at and says .....Ummmmm why does that look tougher than mine... lol

Just my thoughts for what they are worth....

OK, I have decided to go with the 2'' /1''. I plan on putting 265/70/17 on eventually, so I that will do fine. Falls, I totaly agree with you. Those were my thoughts as well on all of this lift stuff and that is why I could not decide on the 3''/2'' lift or a 2''/1''. I just needed someone elses opinion. Good, thanks guys I will go with the 2/1. Man that was a hard decision, and if I do not like it, I can take it off.

Where are you getting this 2/1 lift?

I am wondering where you are buying the 2/1 lift? I am very interested in the same thing and just want to know where to but it? Is it Cornfed or is it Daystar or something?

Its a Cornfed lift. Call Jason at Burtman and he can make what ever size you want ( within reason of course ) He just had 1/2" front leveling spacer made for Deputy to kick the front of his up an 1"+

He's always floating around here.

You bet, I plan on putting some pics on here when it is done. I am ordering the kit the first week of Feb. I plan on installing the lift the first weekend it arrives, I have to factor in delivery time and manufacturing time, so it might be the middle of March before it is all done...

Honestly that is the look I am trying to avoid...

Eventually when my shocks/springs need replaceing I will go bigger and spend some money lifting the truck. But that is a long way off.

Agreed !!! you need rims and much bigger tire's , or atleast much bigger tire'sn or just go home......lol.

Also you have an SR5 which are easier to lift since there is no Xreas on it . I dont't think Hivel wants to loose his Xreas , handling and center of gravity.

My vote goes to smaller lift , especially since you can still only run 265's . I think the 2/1 lift is perfect. The 3/2's I see look like to much lift with the 265's on it.

I third that!!!! Reminds me of my brother's EZ-GO golf cart that he lifted but didn't change the tires!!! Just too much room between Rubber and Plastic!
