How much faster will the 05 V8 be??

Looking at the specs of the 05 V8, it looks interesting. It has 10lb/ft more at the same RPM and 35 HP more at 5400 RPM. SO the peak HP went up 600RPM. This should move siftpoints to 5500 RPM or more and solve the "laziness" above 4500 RPM of the current V8.

I predict the 60 will be at least .5 sec quicker due to hitting it in 2nd now and the 1/4 by at least .5 sec as well. SO look for low 7s for 60 and low 15s for 1/4.

I think it will be in the low 7's too. I HOPE it will be around 7.0-7.1. Then the 4Runner can be as fast as those car SUV's without the offroad capabilities. The current V8 is about 7.5 so it may be possible. Also, isn't the torque the same as the previous V8's? I thought they were bothh 320 ft/lbs of torque.

The current V8 is about 7.8 pending on who tested it, I expect 7.2 or better. Toyota needs to cross check their specs it lists both 320 and 330 for it, I think 330 is closer to the truth given other references.

Very few SUV's beat 8s at the moment, so it will be interesting.
