How much firewood in back of 4runner?

Hi All,

I don't currently have a trailer and am looking to buy firewood for the winter. I'm curious how much firewood you have been able to fit in the back with seats folded down? I'm hoping to buy at least a face cord.

A full cord I dont know if it would fit. I have filled up my truck space before and fit about 30-35 pieces in the back from floor to roof.

A face cord of wood is ~42 cubic feet and I saw somewhere that 3rd and 4th gens have ~80 cubic feet of space with the rear seats down. Depending on the wood that could be real heavy.

If that is green wood it will be way too heavy for a 4runner.

What generation 4Runner are we talking about? Which engine? Are there any mods? I shoved about 700lbs of wood flooring in the back of my lifted 4th gen without any issues...

You could always make 2 trips but what fun would that be.
