I was thinking if I could get a new SR5 for somewhere between Invoice and $500 over that would not be too bad, right? My question is, is the invoice price that I get on Edmunds pretty accurate?
That was my typical quote for the initial inquiry, but when it got to "I'm going to buy from you or the other dealer tomorrow," prices quickly dropped.
It seems that I always get pretty similar prices on the car I am going to buy, it seems its usually the trade-in that has bigger price difference, at least for me. But I bet you are right in saying that when I start dealing I'll be able to get them a little lower.
