How much for your install?

I just dropped off my truck at my audio shop and was wondering how much the rest of you paid for installation.

I'm getting the following installed.
DVD Headunit
Components Front/ Coax Back
Yellow Optima
Two Amps, One Capacitor

I did not provide any of the wiring etc...

Im paying 1100 with the cost of the speakers, battery, wiring, custom wood work for the amplifiers. Does that seem like way too much?

So you are saying that is $1100 for installation labor alone, or does that include the HU, amps, speakers, battery, and cap? If it includes all of that and labor...depending on the components, that seems to be at least a decent deal. If it $1100 for labor alone....I'd say that is pretty high.

No subwoofer? Why do you need a cap?

the cost is including labor and the following

speakers
battery
wiring

speakers are $375
battery is $160
wiring I think near $100

and the rest is labor

Also you asked no subwoofer? I'll be running Two 12's

Hmmm...shuoldn't take more than a half day to install all of that, and you are being charged about $500 in labor.

I think that is high. Maybe they gave your good pricing on the items you bought from them.

What shop?

I would ask what brand components?

Are they also building you sub box and amp rack?

if it is some decent speakers, box and amp are made thats cheap.

If it's just installation and amp rack for you own box and nice speakers. its decent.

-- I would recomend to have them install a a pac steering wheel interface if you have a 03-05.--

The speakers are Kenwood Excelons the 2005, I chose those because of the easiest warranty. Its just an amp rack, no subwoofer box. They have been working on it for the past 2 days straight...They tend to be really meticulous with all the wiring, fitting etc...

350 is ALOT for coaxial kenwood Excelons'..... they shouldn't be that expensive...

Do they have a dual isolator? are you running a second battery? or just putting in a deep cycle?

160 is a little high for a yellow top....

wiring... what size?
I can only determine how much it would cost.. just letting me know what size.... I can figure it out....

ok.... 2 sets of kenwood excelons.. which isn't bad for 350...

THe optima yellow top you could have gotten for 140-120

2 gauge wiring... throughout the whole truck, It would be about 50 bucks.

speaker wire: 30 bucks

RCA cables: 30 bucks.

Component speaker install:
$55.99 for each set

Two channel Amp wiring:
55.99

4 channel amp wiring:
65.99

Stiffening cap install:
14.99

battery replacement:
$16.99

That's the estimate at my shop, and how much I'd charge them..

865.99 plus tax...
(a best buy mobile installer quote)

Did you already have the dvd headunit? Wood and some carpet isn't that much... like 15-50 bucks....my old friend installer works at tweeter... and he wouldn't rack that much...
