How much is a used 2010 TE worth?

A local dealer has a TE with KDDS and NAV with ~6k miles. Supposedly it was a regional toyota reps vehicle that he drove around to local dealers to demo the features on the new 4runner.

Their "internet price" is 36.2k which is high IMO. KBB comes up with nothing. I have no idea what the depreciation on this would be. Any ideas what a reasonable offer might be?

Its in black which I am not crazy about so I'll probably pass but if I could get it cheap enough you never know.

According to Edmunds, the MSRP would of been around $40,670, with an invoice price around $36,652. With 6K miles, I think the price is a bit high. Especially since you can probably get 3K off a brand new vehicle that you know hasn't been abused. Good luck w/ your decision.

You won't get it cheap cheap, 4R's are too much in demand. $4K off msrp would be good imo, plus get the dealer to extend the warranty by 6k miles, or get a good deal on a Toyota extended warranty.

Ha, well 6k of mine or your driving would not. 6k of 'rental' driving and 'showing off' of the 4R, oh yes. It might not be 'hurt' but I have a feeling the 6k is about 12k worth of abuse. People wanted to see how fast the v6 was, how it handled, offroad, etc. Rental cars are not treated the best, neither are demos. I would make them toss in a 100k of coverage for that price.

I agree. I was told this was not a demo per say but who knows what they did with it or if I believe them.

I considered offering 35K with a 7/100 platinum included. Still torn on the black. It looks alright but boy is black a pain to keep clean.

don't know where you're located but 35k seems high.

when i was looking a few months ago a dealer had a demo TE w/ nav, kdss, remote start, alloy locks, paint protection film, floor and cargo mats, 9000 miles, MSRP $41,879... and i got them to $32,995 and felt i could have gotten them lower (or to throw in an extended warranty) had i been interested in pursuing.

in a nut: i think you can do better. good luck!

And why get a color that you're not even sure about? If you don't like Black now, you're not gonna like it any better once you own it. That's why I went with a 4Runner w/ Nav - otherwise I would of been whinning about it and that's dumb when your spending $$$.

I would at least go to another dealer, even if it is a bit far away, and get at least a second quote for one, I agree with sandcrawler in that you should be able to get about 4K off MSRP for a brand new one. I was quoted 34K first week of April 2010 for a brand new black TE, but that didn't include tax and fees (add in another 2.6K to get out the door), so that gives you some idea.

I just got my Trail Edition on Saturday, but it doesn't have the Nav/KDDS. Was told also regional Toyota rep drove around to dealers, it has 3k on it and I got it for 32k. There are only about 5 4Runner TE's within 100 miles of Chicago burbs and this was the only silver one. I made them change the oil even though they said it's good for 10k or 1 year, they also extended the warranty by 3k.

I told them if I spent more than 30 minutes in the dealership I would walk away. Also told them not to bother "introducing" me to the finance guy etc.

Sorry GrapeApe, I thought you were the one asking about the used TE in the beginning, my mistake. Like you say, only you can decide how your time is best spent. Congrats on your new TE, hope it met your expectations when you picked it up!

Last weekend Mountain States had 6 trails. I use Edmunds to find inventory. And I know I saw some other dealer in the Metro area that had at least five. Good luck.

I test drove a new trail edition in Lake Havasu City AZ about a month ago. I went by the dealer today and it is still setting there. I was in Tucson several months ago and 2 different dealer had them on the lot (one had 2). The last time I looked on their internet site they still had them I think the initial people that wanted them now have them and the price may come down.
