How much is this T4R worth?

I'm looking around for the right 3rd gen 4Runner to buy and so I've been browsing ads. This one is one of the most expensive I've seen, a stock 2002 Sport with 79k miles in nice condition for ... $13.9k.

What do you guys think this is actually worth? I want to say about $10k but then again it's the ONLY Sport I've seen with this few miles.

Depends a lot on the local market. Out here that would do about $11K. But keep in mind that it'll be coming do for a TB/WP service and probably a lot of other maintenance. Use that to your advantage when negotiating.

plug in your data. Bottom line this one is way over priced, someone is Very proud of it. I'm sure its nice, and yes miles are pretty low, but the premium they're asking is way above and beyond what is should be. OK, I always shoot to pay wholesale (5800 here) to private party (6700 here) but Never anywhere near retail (7900 here). And these prices include a premium for the low miles. Now i should have mentioned these prices don't include any options beyond the standard sr5, so plug in your info and see what ya get, with all options it gets 6800, 7700 and 9500. If it had all the options (pretty much like a limited minus 4wd and heated front seats) I'd pay 7700. Good luck, there are many out there, check ebay, I've bought my last 2 there, great deals even when factoring in the transporting.

To try and make a comparison for you. I paid $8950.00 last July for my 00' limited with 105k, locker, original owner with all service records. Timing belt done 2x, all fluids, etc. Pristine. I am in the NYC area and have noticed 4runners go for less here than out there, but I think I got a good deal.

That said, I think that having all the service records, title history, etc play a big part in the value, at least to me. After 10+ years I think the care of the owner is more important then simply having low mileage.

Its over-priced, but if the seller has full records, the truck needs nothing- mint, and you are good to go for a few years (as in brakes perfect, fluids changed, zero rust) then how over-priced is it really?

Most important, if it is exactly what you want then it is worth more than any blue book will tell you....

It's coming up on its timing belt service in terms of mileage... It doesn't have leather but definitely low miles no doubt. I'd say 12k tops... And that's on the high end. Just got my limited 2002 with 119k for 10k. Private owner though...

$14k is well into nice 4th gen money. I realize the area can have a large impact on price but I've seen clean 2003/4s go for <$10k in my area.

Since it's such low mileage, in excellent condition AND it's a sport, in my opinion it could get around $12K in Colorado. That's also assuming that it has an excellent ownership history and maintenance records. NADA and kelly blue book have nothing to do with market value. That's just a database of averages. Market value is whatever the market will bear and what someone perceives it to be. Ever see cars for sale at the Barrett Jackson auction?.....
