How much of the steering shaft splines should be showing?

I installed a 1 inch body lift with the steering spacer. I don't know what it looked like before, but the splines are showing on the steering shaft where it is unbolted when the body lift is installed. Is this ok? I feel like the splines shouldn't be showing this much. This picture is not mine but it is exactly how mine looks.

It can't go down to far as the bolt doesn't let it slip off. You have to fully remove the bolt to get that to slide out.

Mine looks pretty close to that, I have a 1.5".

If you just loosen the bolt it does allow it to slide a bit right? To slide out all the way the bolt needs to be removed correct?

Thank you for the responses. I ended up removing the clamp to see what it looked like underneath and there were enough threads.
