How much oil can your car work on?

Your neighbor is an idiot. It's a machine at the end of the day, Honda or Toyota or etc reliable brand.

Just for kickers, you should send your neighbor all those articles about the auto-acceleration in Toyota's that killed folks; or just send him the recall on 3rd gen Tacoma's leaking diff oil, lol.

That is nothing. I once drained out a Civic crankcase with oil that had been run 41,000 miles, or since it was driven off the lot. All that was in there was enough to fill a Solo cup 3/4 full. The dipstick was bone dry, and had been for some time.

reminds me of the time my brother told me " good buy, those things run without oil even" (sarcastically) when I got a 2007 civic for my wife.
 
Your granddaughter changed the oil on your truck. And she only put 1.5 quarts.

One of the better stories I’ve heard on here this year.

I saw that exact thing when I worked at Honda in 1999. Still running fine but OMG the top of the head looked like black mud. Flushed a few times and back on the road it went.

#2- I put 8 quarts in a v12 Jaguar when I used to pump gas. I was filling up his car and he let me check the fluids. I believe they hold 12 quarts total.
#3- I fixed a 6cyl Cherokee where the dude filled the engine up with water thru the oil cap on the valve cover. Amazingly it ran fine after we flushed it a few times.
