how much oil?

I just bought a 1997 limited and i doing oil change. I want to know how much oil to put in cause i do noy have the owners manual. Thanks

It's just over 5 quarts.

The manual says 5.2 quarts with filter, but I can tell you from years of experience it takes about 6 quarts. I usually put in 5 3/4 and I am just shy of full. When it gets hot it goes up to full. I know a lot of people just put in 6 quarts.

I use 5.5 to 5.75 quarts. 6 is too much.

5qts start it let it run for 10 sec and check the level im usally just shy of 6

If you drain it and change the filter like you should it is 6.2 qts... I work on these things and drive one... 6.2 qts w/filter replacement... the manual has always been a little low

I agree, just switched to MOBIL 1 synthetic with a new filter and put every drop of 6 qts. in her. Have been checking it religiosly since, and seems to be just right.

I end up putting just over 5.5 quarts with a filter change. I start with 5.5 let it run and then park it for the evening and recheck before I leave for work and top off as needed.

Yes I have a ‘99 Limited and 6 qts is more like it. 5.5 qts and not to full mark on dipstick with 3.4L engine
