How much settling should I expect post lift?

I installed Bilstein 5100's all around (front set on zero), with Dobinson's 75mm(3") lift coils up front and Dobinson's 50mm (2 1/4") rear coils yesterday. Post lift measurements were a bit shocking. I gained 5" up front and as expected, about 2.25" in the rear! I am 1000% positive, the spring perches up front are set correctly at the bottom notch. I don't have a winch and bumper installed yet so I know that's going to bring things down a bit but the truck sits pretty damn level and it makes zero noises. I believe the alignment may bring it down slightly but not 1.5". The below measurements were done before I drove the truck around too, so I plan to double check them today after work.

Pre-lift/post-lift measurements(Hub to fender):
Front Driver: 19 5/8"/24 3/4" Difference: 5 1/8"
Front Pass: 19 3/4"/25" Difference: 5 1/4"
Rear Driver: 21 3/4"/24 3/8" Difference: 2 5/8"
Rear Pass: 22"/24 1/4" Difference: 2 1/4"

Truck tracks well and definitely rides stiffer than stock. Zero lights on the dash, although I did perform the ZPC before I even started the truck after the lift.

My driveway is on a slight angle so the picture may be a bit deceiving with regards to how level it sits.

Anyone else see this much difference in their experience with this combo?

I don't have that combo but I did notice a good amount of settling after driving my 4runner around after the front/rear leveling lift. The front especially was very high and the camber was off. Gave it some speed on a few speed bumps and hit the brakes pretty hard a few times. It settled real well.

Methinks your lower spring seats on the front shocks are installed upside down. It has happened before and it will happen to someone else again. The cups should be facing down per this image.

Thanks for the replies guys! So after about 100 miles, I took measurements again and the front settled in right at 3 1/4" of lift. The back did not drop a bit. The spring perches were clearly on properly as the springs clocked appropriately and I have zero noise. I had the truck aligned today and it drives better than from the dealership. Now, to get the tires mounted tonight or tomorrow!

I'm really interested in reviving this thread! Just installed Dobinson's full suspension kit with their UCAs. Did 3 inch coils in the front and 1.5 inch coils in the rear. I have dual batteries, steel skids, and steel sliders so I figured I may loose .25 inch up front making it more like a 2.75 inch lift. After install and triple checking everything is right I drove it around the neighborhood and mashed the brakes a few times as well as some speed bumps. It's sitting 3/4 inch reverse rake right now so I must have gained close to 4-5 inches up front! Hoping it settles a good two inches as yours did, because even with 2 inch rear coils I would still be .25 inches negative rake. Any thoughts? Front coils were purchased pre-assembled to save myself from making mistakes.

When I installed my Dobinsons IMS setup, it took about 500 miles of aggressive hits and some weight in the rear to settle out. I went with C302 and C725 coils (2.5" front / 2.0-2.25" rear empty). At first I was sitting at 4.0" up front and almost 3" in the rear. It's settled to about 2.5" and 2.25" on the dot. I do want to raise the front a bit - but that's another weekend project.

The fronts settled much quicker than the rears. I didn't notice much settling in the rear took a lot longer, plus weight to get them to break in. I would guess it also depends what rear coil you used.

I did 314 up front 3 inch lift with stock weight and C59-505 in the rear 1.5 inch with stock.weight. this should have gained me .5 positive rake not negative .5. I did speak with Mike at Exit Offroad today where I bought them from and he explained the rear won't settle much, but the fronts especially with new top hats that the rubber will compress and I'll loose about .5 inches there and then the spring should break in after 500 miles and that will give me the drop of an inch I need up front to give me the positive .5 rake. Thinking I should have just gone with the 2 inch springs in the rear at this point, but I'm trying to be able to still park in my garage with an ARB flat rack.

I would say go bash it offroad for a day - you'll be surprised when you get home with the settling. You can always raise the rear, just see how the front settles out - I bet it levels out nice afterwards. If it's too tall we can always trade 302 and 314 coils
