How Much weight can I TOW

I was thinking about getting an Airstream trailer but not sure what size im able to get. I like the 23 footers but not sure some of the ratings on them say 7000lb. Can someone explain.

Manual says 500# hitch weight and 5000# max. trailer weight(wet)

I just towed a trailer back from Long Island I bought for my next trailer build project, and it was pushing maybe 150# tongue weight, and I had about a 40# toolbox in the back...needless to say it sagged..and I was pretty disappointed.

There's going to be and airbag install shortly...can't be having and sag going on this early in the game.

You can't tow a 7,000 lb trailer with a 5th gen 4Runner. The towing limit for the 5th gen is 5,000 lbs.

Also, check the weight of any trailer very carefully. Is the weight that they are quoting dry weight? Water in the water tank, waste in the waste tank, food, luggage, etc., all adds weight. If your trailer dry weight is 5,000 lbs, then the loaded weight will be over the limit that you can pull with your 4Runner.

if you're looking to tow a 23 ft. trailer, the new 4runner is NOT your best vehicle choice. the airstream is a nice choice, however.

How much sag did you have with the 150 lbs tongue weight? My boat has around 300# of tongue weight....looks like I might need some too.
