How not to off road

Just poking around on YouTube this morning and found this video.

Note to newbies. Do not do this. Fast forward to 6:40 for the worst part. There was no reason for him to leave the trail to ascend that ledge. He could have easily made it up the first place with a throttle bump, or at worst a strap. If you can't make it up you don't get to create your own, easier path. This is why trails get closed and the enviro nuts hate us. Responsible 4wheeling can absolutely co-exist with conserving the land and habitat, but not if people do this.

A good rule of thumb to follow is, "Leave it better than you found it". I always carry a couple trash bags and pick up things that catch my eye. And I stay on established trails. It may not make a huge difference, but if more would follow suit...

It only takes a nickel to go first class.

And staying on trails does make a huge difference especially in west were precip is about 6-14 inches a year and it can take years for one set of tracks to disappear.
