How rare is this?

Hey everyone,

I have been searching for a 3rd gen for a little bit now, but I have yet to part out and sell my 2006 Civic Si.

So sadly I cannot take a look at the truck below.

I just thought that it seemed VERY rare. IMO a PERFECT TRUCK. Maybe if it was a 99+ it would be a bit better, but it looks and sounds fantastic.


Here's the overview.

1997 T4R Sr5
Manual Tranny
Locking diff (I called)
Gunmetal colour
Leather (great condition as you can see)
Woodgrain trim
Sunroof
No Accidents
and the big kicker



160,000 miles.

and only $7900.

I wish my car was sold and I would pick this up. So cool to see a 5 speed limited essentially.

4 manual tranny T4R's have popped up locally in 2 days. This is the only locked one, and the only one with wood and leather.

i'd say if your in the market and all mechs check out thats the one to get, can't find one with more options then that and the 5-speed and locker combo is pretty rare from what i usually see around here.

Nah, only about $900 too much.

Vantage85: offer them $7000 for it. Get a loan, buy it, your first payment is two months out. Sell your Civic asap..you'll have it sold before you have to make your first payment on the 4runner. In my opinion that's a nice enough and rare enough 4runner to make it worth doing.

I just Blue booked it, and i may have missed a few options, like the sunroof, but i checked leather. The locker is maybe a few hundred bucks added. It blue books for $3,900 in good condition, and $4,400 for excellent. I'm sorry but $7,000 is wayyyyyyyy too much for that truck, It is basically my truck even the milage minus the leather, and locker, when i bought it 4 years ago, and i paid 7,000. it was excellent, one owner, maintenance records ect.

Its 14 years old, if you want to pay that much go for it, but i hope you would keep looking for a reasonable deal.

Another one just popped up as well. Thats 4 damn manual's locally when before I hadn't see one in 2 months.

I would love to be able to take a loan out, but I still have a loan on my Civic with my parents. They would shoot me if I bought a truck before I sold it. Not to mention I already have 2 vehicles at their house, my Civic and my 2000 F150 work truck (owned by my company).

And as to the price people.

Canada doesn't come anywhere near KBB. You are hardpressed to find a good condition 3rd for under 8000. As you can see above, 13000 for a low milage 99. That one is IMO about 1000 high, but its from a big Toyota dealer and certified.

99+ limiteds are 12000-14000 with around 120,000km's.

Prices of 2002's are comparable to 2003+'s at right around 14-16000.

depending on the area BB means nothing and most 3rd gens in great shape will easily get $5k for them with over $150 miles on them but you can find deal if you are patient but alot of the good ones are getting hard to find.

I'd say make and offer closer to $6000 and work from there.

Two things: He's in Canada...KBB means nothing up there. Second, KBB is always too low for 3rd gen 4Runners. Just take a look at what they bring on eBay. eBay is always a good pulse for what any car is worth period.




I do agree with RonMaiden though...if you were to make an offer, I'd start closer to 6. Always better to start low...within reason.
