how the f#$k do you remove the crossover pipe??

lucked into a cracked exhaust crossover pipe on the passenger side flange, wrestled with this crap all day and now im to the point where everything is loose but i cant figure out how to get the crossover pipe out without tearing the motor down or taking the whole thing out! what gives? it flops around behind the motor a little but wont come out one way or the other, need to weld it up. any ideas?

One of the hardest parts to remove on a 4runner is the crossover pipe. Some people pull the engine to get to it. You can cut it up for removal if you're installing headers.

Pull the engine or cut it are the only options IMO

negative ghost-rider... lol, it was a PITA!!!!! i gave up on trying to get it out and found a way to weld it while still in the truck. since the crack was only half way around, i was able to weld about 3/4 of the way around it given the thing was loose and i could move it to get a better angle. either way, i'm exhausted (no pun intended) and dont ever ever ever want to fool with that pipe again. i also patched up a few other leaks and installed a cherry bomb vortex. consumed my entire day!
