How to access Headlight assemblies

Hey all! Long time no type.

I need to replace the driver's front directional signal light. It is definitely out and causes the "fast click" when I use the left side signal. The driver's rear directional signal light is still functioning, and the right side has no issues at all (clicks regularly).

The question I have is, what's the best way to get to the assembly? I know that, once reached, it's just a matter of turning the receptacle counter clockwise to pull it out and then replace the bulb. But how do you best get to the receptacle with the easiest effort? Wouldn't ya know.... the left (driver) side is the one where the battery is in the way. Ugghhh... Is it worth removing the battery temporarily to get at the light receptacle, or can the headlight assembly be removed more easily?

The main headlight assembly. The bulb to be replaced is the amber bulb on the upper right corner of the assembly (as you're viewing it). More about the brackets that appear above and below the assembly in a minute.

View behind the assembly. As you can see, the battery is in the way. I have seen some YT videos where the person took off the front left wheel well covering to get to it, but I don't know if that's worth the time and effort.

Side view. Please note the black fastener covers. Is there an easy way to pop these off without breaking them? Do they just lift with a flat screw driver or do you need some special tool to take them off? And will taking these off be enough to free the headlight assembly or are there other fasteners that need to be undone?

Upper View - Note the light gray bracket with the tabs. Do those need to come off? I hope not, because I've already broken one of them and don't want to break another.

Had the same issue as well, my pops was able to help, you just need to position your hand really good to get it out. Took us about 30 minutes to finally get the turning bulb out.

I tried cramming my hand in there for like 30 minutes or more. Wasn't going to work.

I finally gave up, pulled the battery, and had it all done in under 5 minutes. My radio stations were still saved. This is how I would do it if I had to try again.

Lay down and reach up if you can. Just need to find the right way to get to it.

If you are still struggling. Take the battery out and do it, but make sure reset all windows when the battery is put back in.

I loosened the wheel wells to gain access to the tight bolt when I replaced mine. You might have better luck that way!

I loosened the battery hold downs and titled it back to get to things easier.

It's easier to pull the battery than try to contort and get frustrated. It will probably take you less time too.

Update: The light has been replaced! arty:

All I had to do was take the battery off the stand and push it back, and I found I had enough room to access the receptacle. Didn't even have to disconnect th e battery. I can't believe how easy it was to turn it and get the bulb out.... and then back in! Took all of 30 minutes.

But wouldn't ya know... after I got the battery back I discovered that the parking light below it was out as well hwell:
