I just got a 2003 4runner SR5, but it only came with a single master key/Fob.
I ordered that "Smart Keymaker OBD for 4C and 4D chips Toyota " and got a bunch of blank transponder keys from amazon WITHOUT the dot at the base of the metal key (the 4C key, http://www.automam.net/picture/KEYS/toyotakey2.jpg). The keymaker didnt work on my 2003 4runner SR5 at all. I would get one beep when I plugged it in, then 30 seconds of silence, then continuous beeping. It's possible that I may have been using it wrong since the instructions are in broken english.
Anyways, after that failed I tried one last time with the "switch method", where you slam doors shut and insert the master key and suddenly it worked!
