How to clean intake vent?

Hi all,
I'm sure this is a dumb question: I have a 2003 4Runner and I park under a tree on my drive way. In the summer, there are lots of tree droppings (tiny leaves and whatnot) drop on my windshield. I'm wondering if I need to clean out the air intake vents (where the windshield wipers are)? If yes, how do I do that?

Thanks for the reply. I didn't mean those dropped on the windshield, but those that got inside the vents, right next to the windshield wipers?
