I had quite an experience dealing with, and finally clearing this code and decided to write up a simple set of guidelines to hopefully fix this code if you have it.
I have listed them from cheapest fix to the most expensive outside of buying a whole new charcoal can.
1.) Check for cracks along your charcoal/vapor can and seal with JB Weld. Reset computer by disconnecting battery for a few minutes. Drive. If CEL comes back on for same code proceed to #2
2.) If your vacuum lines are old and cracking just spend the $20 bucks for the SiliconeIntakes kit. I wouldn't waste time doing a smoke test on your vacuum lines unless you already replaced them and did all the other steps. Also, you do not need the larger kit from SiliconeIntakes, the small one is plenty for one vehicle. Replace lines one at a time. If you are paranoid zip tie the ends for a tighter fit. Disconnect Battery to reset. Drive. If CEL comes back proceed to #3.
3.) Find your VCV closest to the vapor can/charcoal filter. Using a 9v and a 9v battery lead(radio shack or salvage from another electronic device) test the VCV. Disconnect car battery. Disconnect plug from the VCV and touch the two wires from the 9v to the leads on the VCV. If you hear it click it's G2G. If it does not click replace with the OEM part ONLY (this will save you a headache). To install VCV. Disconnect battery. Install part. Reconnect battery. Drive. If the light comes back on repeat this process for the other VCVs. There are 3 total.
Hopefully by now your code is history and you are happy.
