How to disable DRL's on 99 sr5...

So I tried unplugging the black box next to the battery but that made my headlights not turn on at all. Tired looking at the DIY's but nothing clear for 99's. Any ideas or links? Thanks!

US '99 4Runners didn't have DRL's. I own one. That's why you won't find a DIY. Is yours Canadian, maybe?? Or maybe someone retrofit the DRL's?

I was thinking it's Canadian too. It has canada on all the patches under the hood but has Cali emissions equipment and speedo is in mph. Anyone know how to disable it if it is canadian?
