Anyone have issues with melting wires or plugs from increased current draw?

NO - 10 years and 100k, works fine. Recently went to LED, still no issues.

Done it...doing it again

I did this in my 2011 runner and an finally going to do it in my 2021 TRD. It worked well in the old runner...sure it will be okay in the '21(after 5 years). May aim the low beams a little lower to avoid blinding oncoming drivers. I hate that when it happens to me. Here in NJ, they no longer check headlight aiming at the inspection station...not aim, not brightness, not even if the lights are working! (The last time I took a vehicle thru inspection was about 1999).

2021's came with LED headlights from the factory.
