How to hook-up front Sub Woofer?

Thai suggested using this little self-powered sub woofer & putting it under the front seat for some more bass punch up front. I don't know too much about hooking-up to modern car stereos - like the JBL 10 speaker. The speaker info says it "can take both line level inputs and speaker inputs, so it can easily integrate into virtually any existing system."

What does it mean by "line inputs"?

Since I want to put it under the driver's seat, perhaps I could hook it up to the near worthless front center speaker's inputs - whataya think?

Line inputs mean that you can power them using speaker level inputs rather than RCA plugs. Snip a wire to a speaker and hook it up to the self powered unit.

I wouldn't disconnect the front speakers as they're supposed to reproduce much different sounds than will that subwoofer enclosure. You'll have the bass you've been lacking but now won't have mids or highs (depending on which speakers you planned on disconnecting.

You might want to think about powering them with the rear door speaker line inputs as speakers that low and behind you don't do much for the overall 'sound stage' in the car.

There's been lots of talk about that center speaker on here. I,like many others, find that this speaker can be way too bright at times, overpowering the sound. There are already 2 tweeters in the doors. I put a volume control on my center speaker, and it was an easy fix to this. Therefore, I would not miss that speaker too much.

Are you suggesting disconnecting one of the rear door speakers & running the leads to the sub-woofer?

I purchased the Woox only to return it to Crutchfield. It didn't fit under the seat, and installation would have not been worth it. I think a 12" sub w/ amp would suffice in most instances.
