how to install cup holder for 3rd gen 4runner

I've never replaced that, but I can tell you that taking off the wood paneling, and getting behind there is fairly straight forward. Be careful tho, some parts need to be wiggled and pulled out, and some dont.
Once you get to the cupholder, you should be able to figure it out...

if you havnt already taken the cup holder out...
take the first few steps from installing a stereo (aftermarket/stock) when getting the center bezel off.
1st: the bezel trim around your handbrake (just the inner black trim) pull gently from the bottom and then the top. it should pull out of place. then slide it up(no need to disconnect wiring).
2nd: pull the trim around your shifter off. pull straight up from the front and the end closiest to you ( no screws on a 2wd).
3rd: pull climate control handles off, even the round ones. theres two (2) screws that hold the climate control to the center bezel trim. the are three (3) per side but only two (2)(one on each side) are screwed to the bezel.
4th: you can now pull off the center bezel trim by pulling on all corners gently. but be careful when off. you still have two (2) harnesses to pull out up top (clock and hazard).
now you can see the cup holder from the back. if not already taken off the frontside (?). unfortunately, i didnt borrow paying any attention on how to take the pullout cup holder out. but i gave you my 2 cents on how to get there. hope this helps any. can you believe that, all that just to take the center bezel off. lol.
