I don't actually have this kind of wrench but i read enough in here to know this:
You can adjust some wrench/ tool with torque (how hard to tighten the nut).So, "torque to 8lb-12lb" means it is recommanded to tighten your nut with a rating of 8lb- 12lb torque so that you do not over tighten the nut. That's it .
Somebody please confirm or correct me if im wrong.

Why you need it? I just tight my with a regular one. 6 month, 15k => no problems so far!

The only thing you need to be aware of is that there is a drain hole near the end of the tip. You should make sure it is located at the bottom when mounting, so condensate will drain. Also you would want to locate the bolt/clamp so it doesn't extend down where it could get caught on something.

a torque wrench is a simple tool that doesn't cost a lot. Its a good tool to have. I'm suprised some of you don't have one. Its also great to use when tightening the lug nuts. With lug nuts it can be real important. If you don't tighten it enough it could loosen up on you or give you crappy handling. If you over tighten the nuts you could actually WARP the rotors and that could get expensive.
