Here is how I load...unload my CVT rooftop tent solo.
This platform uses 2 - 10' long 2x4"s. With 2' wide support pieces. I have 2 heavy duty angled L brackets that 'connect' to my Front Runner roof rack. I lay a blanket down to prevent it from scratching the rack. These angled brackets keep the platform from pulling off of the rack. The platform has a U Bracket in the base. I connect an electric hoist to the U bracket and raise it up. I use the ladder as a support piece just to take stress off of the hoist cable and it also keeps it from swinging. On my rack I have 1x3" wood pieces that sit on the slats. Once I pop the tent loose from the quick release mounts it slides on top of these pieces across the rack on to the platform. I then slowly push the tent down the platform. After I get it to a nice point I lower the platform with the hoist and let gravity do the rest. Once it is on the dolly all of this tucks away nicely on the side of my garage. I have some other ideas to make it a little smoother. It doesn't slide very easily on the wood. It also gets hung up on the bolts for the angled brackets.
This took me about 12mins real time to remove. Loading it is obviously in reverse of this.
The time-lapse video was 12 secs originally but that was too quick so I slowed it down to 25secs. I stopped it before loading it on to the dolly, since I was using the dolly as my tripod.
