How to "MAINTAIN" a Maintenance Free Battery? Pics included.

The red circle indicates to add distilled water. Can anyone give me some tips on whether I need to add distilled water or...?... and if so, how much to which access port?

I would say to add water to all the cells that need water! At least yours has an indicator! My motorcycle had a "maintenance free" glass mat battery and they made it "maintenance free" by gluing the cover on to make it hard to add water.
After a few years it just quit working and I had to pry off the cover to open up the cells only to find they were all dry. I filled up each one and recharged it and it was good for 2 more years after that.

Yea, just peel the "maintenance free" sticker off and unscrew the caps and fill them up to just below the top of the battery.

Thanks, that is exactly what I did. The red indicator wasn't lying :suspicious: it took 1/2 GALLON of distilled water.

1. Turn on Engine
2. Fill battery
3. 20 minute highway drive
4. Back in action (BLUE indicator is back) Thanks!

+1 to what they said. Use distilled water or at the auto parts store a special battery fluid you can use too. Use the right fit screwdriver when opening up the battery cover, its easy, might be a little tight when you first open it.
