How to post pics?

TOTAL dumb question, but I got a new Canon digital camera. My pics are too high resolution to post here. How do I downgrade them to post on T4R.ORG?

Set your camera on a smaller resolution to reduce the sizes (above e-mail but not as high as you are now). Check your manual for the range of sizes. I d/n know what the limits are on this site. I feel it would be safe to post pics about 100 kb (136.7 kb is the limit I saw when I clicked on the attachment's paper-clip icon). Right click on your pic and select properties to show the pic’s size. Plus, there is software that will let you resize your pics. Good Luck! jow

Use a hosting site to host the pics, then just insert them into your post. Personally, I use Photobucket. Upload your pics there, then it will give you the IMG code. You just copy the IMG code for the pic(s) you want, paste that into your post and done.

Have you tried to post a reduced Pic using the tips? Please ask me any additional questions if needed. I like to see Pics and know the feeling of getting use to the process. If needed use the private message option but tell me “see PM” (otherwise I’m not expecting or looking for them). Attached is my 07 purchased Friday before Christmas after walking 4 months searching. My 1993 Explorer of 15 years 116,000 mi was totaled due to a short and fried main wiring harness. I’ll look for your post with a pic. Good Luck! jow

I love the free version of Photobucket for the message-boards that d/n have attachment options built in (which is more software to learn). In my opinion it is easier when it is built in vs using Photobucket and etc. Such as, this site posted the images inserted in my text w/o the extra efforts or having to post links or thumbnails. The new upgrades and larger limits are blowing my mind. The new learning curves due to upgrades usually slow and frustrate me but in the end, I see the benefits. I hope I’m not showing my age. LOL. jow

Thanks so much guys! I have been trying to figure this one out for a long time. Just like with 4Runner questions, I should have just asked here a long time ago.

Looks good, glad it worked out. Personally, I just prefer photobucket, and it comes in handy because often I post pics in more than one post, or on more than one forum. Rockwall, on that last one I think you copied the wrong line of code, you want the IMG code, which looks like this
.

Rockwall, Good Job & Nice Looking Runner! Please try the site’s attachment option also to see the comparison. Plus, ask your questions, we all need help with this fast moving technology at times. jow
