How to put LED lights under bar

I had installed the streetglow led strips in my footwells and they look great. Now I want to put Led's under the ledge on the bar in the basement so the light would shine down by where the stools are. Anyone know what would be the best way to power them? I don't know whether I should just use a couple 9" strips like I used in my 4runner, or if I should go to RadioShack and buy individual Led's. Can they connect somehow to a battery like a AA, or do I need to buy some kind of converter to get them to plug into the wall outlet? I'm an idiot when it comes to electricity.

Look at the technical specs of whatever LED strips, don't do individual LEDs, you buy and they should list the current draw. I think every LED strip I have seen runs off of 12V DC, so like the post above mentioned, just pick up a 12V DC converter for the amps you need. I just bought a .5 amp one off Ebay for $5.50 shipped. If you need help with it, just post up the LED strip you want and we can tell you what you will need. Radio Shack is expensive imo, so I try to stay away from them.
