Honestly, it's pretty straightforward. Just a handful of screws and clips. Sorry, didn't take pics like I was planning to when I took mine off but you should be fine.

Hey would you maybe have PDFs of how to take the fender off? Not the flare but the whole front Quarter panel by any chance. I know this is an old thread but I'm kind of desperate for help

Hate to resurrect an old thread but could someone please clairify step 2 part D? Regarding "disengaging the claws."

I have all the screws and clips off on mine but the bumper cover is still attached via the claws and im not sure how to disengage them. I wedged a screwdiver in there but only see tabs/flaps that wont move. Can i just pull forcefully to snap the bumper cover off?

I've taken off my bumper before a while ago, but last week I did it again and got stuck for a little bit at the same point. The whole bumper could wiggle a bit but I didn't remember how to get those clips to release after pulling on it a few times. I pulled really hard like I wanted to break it and they released just fine. Pretty sure that's how I removed my bumper the first time too. Just have to get angry! Your results may vary. No screw driver needed but maybe I already wore the clips the first time. Don't remember if I used a screwdriver then.

Agreed, I didn't use a screwdriver, just pull up and out. I think I broke one tab on the first side from pulling down and out but then learned from that for the other side.

Question: does any one know what bolts screw into the bumper cover retainer clips? This is part number 53879-58010 (marked as 53879K in the attached figure).

same thing for the bolts that connect to clip 90467-05138, visible in the same picture.

Front bumper swap

A little off the subject, does anyone know if the bumper cover from a 06-09 4runner (PN#5211935903) will fit right on an 04 4runner? will the flares on the side match up?
