How do I remove the cross bars on my 03 sport? I think there is something loose in on of them and I really dont plan on strapping anything to the top of my runner.
How to remove cross bars on roof rack of 4th gen.

The rear end caps pop off of the side rails, and then the cross bars would slide out, off the back of the truck.

The bad news is you have to remove the "feet" from the roof rack (or at the very least 2 of them on either the front or back). That involves CAREFULLY prying off the covers, unscrewing the bolts that hold the feet on, and then using a small hex wrench to detach the feet from the long bars. Once that's done, you can slide the cross bars out of the long bars. Then you get to re-assemble it.

Awesome! thanks. I knew it wouldnt take long to get the answer. I will be posting pics soon of my 03 sport v8 4x4. Just picked it up thursday. I LOVE IT!!!!!
