How to remove the center console covers

I got a great deal on eBay for a receptacle assembly (74110-35010-B0); the version with the cig lighter (aka two power ports . I plan to install it in my 04 V8 Ltd. to replace the factory assembly.

But...new to this. It looks pretty plug and play so I'm not worried about the wiring. However, I am worried about breaking fasteners or little pieces of plastic or whatever in removing the console cover to access the area for installation.

Can any of y'all more experienced with mods point me to an idea of what tools I'll need and how to remove the cover?

first step, open the center console. after that pull up on the trim piece that covers the center console and tranny tunnel, it will come straight up. after that you should be able to remove the actual plastic you're trying to get at by just pulling straight up. there are no fasteners in those pieces you have to worry about breaking, they just come straight up
