How to replace Fusible Links w/ pics

Heres a "how to" on the fusible links in the under hood fuse box.
1 remove battery
2 remove 3 10 mm bolts holding the base of the fusebox to the body
3 clip the zip tie holding the wire loom to the fusebox on the bottom corner
4 use a small flathead to remove the 8 clips holding the fusebox together and separate the top from the bottom
5 use an 8mm socket to remove frontside fuse bolt and a 10mm to do the back one. I use an extendible magnet to grab these so they didn't drop because they are so small.
6 use a pair of pliers to pull the fuse out
7 put the new one in and reverse the process and add a new zip tie around the bundle

like the write up! thanks for taking the time and putting the effort in on that, it's good info and i don't think this write up has been done before, but I'm with brian , what was the need to remove the whole fuse block? i thought it was just the batteries and then you could get to the bolts for the fusible links?
it's been a bit so i could be wrong, i do remember trying to figure out why the abs fuse wouldn't come out though for like 10 mins before i saw the bolts, haha

Been a long time, but as I recall I used a flathead screwdriver to gently pry the clips out as I pulled up on the fuse box.

My 2007 4runner has some electrical problems. All of the lights flickered (inside and out), radio stopped working and the ac/heater and blower went out, then the engine starting to stall before it just died. Could this be related?

I know this is an old thread but it looks to be the only one ever made about our fusible links... Am I wrong in saying that sand/tan colored wire coming out the fuse box and connecting directly to the battery is the fusible link? I recall seeing this on a couple different wiring diagrams but it seems huge for a fusible link. I have to extend mine to reach my new battery and was also curious what AWG it is/should be spliced to

Replacing bolted in fuses

Blew the alternator fuse doing a spark plug change, too embarrassed to say how.

1. Disconnect battery! (had I done this for plugs wouldn't be writing this)
2. Disconnect main wire lead on top-front of fuse box
3. DO NOT remove the 3 bolts retaining the fuse box. I did this based on other posts and you will loose the leverage required to pull the inner/removable fuse box.
4. To release the tabs pry them inward toward the CENTER of the fuse box. I hate it when it says "release the tabs"!
5. As a solo job I found it best to work the front tabs to get it started, work the back tabs, and back and forth until it comes free. You can find some "grab" points for needle/regular pliers to get a grip. There are two "sliders/guides" one each in front/back. They are like inserts that fit into the outer box. They will help you see your progress on each side, I also wonder if some silicone on these and the tabs would make it easier.
6. Once detached you should have enough play to remove bolted fuses.
7. Put it back together, no tips yet since I need to go buy the fuse ray2:

I replaced my 100Amp ALT fuse and now have zero power.

So I made a post on facebook on the 3rd gen T4R group and I got pointed at the fusible link but I understood that the fusible link was the wire attached to the fuse you changed in the post. But you have this post as if thats the fusible link so I'm confused now... I just want power in my T4R again. Its my main vehicle and I need it up and running asap. I have a fuse box that came out of a parted out 3rd gen that had functioning electronics. Please help! Idk how to get the wire out of the fuse box to replace it. Electronics are not my strong suit.
