How to sell

How would I go about selling my runner with a dead engine? I love this baby but I just can't get her fixed for a good cost! Ugh it's sickening!
Everything's great on her- are there places where people go specifically looking to buy certain runners? It's an 02 in awesome condition- just has a hole in TW motor :/
Any ideas on how to sell her?

In all honesty, you lose SO much value when the engine is shot that it's almost worth the effort to buy a salvage yard engine and have it put in just to sell it whole. Without the engine, you'll probably lose half the market price or more.

What Bob said. You'll probably lose less money by having a shop put in a junkyard motor and selling it that way than by selling it broke. You'll probably lose the least amount of money if you part it out, but it sounds like you're not up for that.

If you have to sell it as-is, put it up on Craigslist with lots and lots of pictures, and figure on 25% or less of KBB, depending on condition. A 3rd gen in decent condition with a blown motor runs $1000-$1200 around here, less if the body and/or interior aren't clean. Be prepared to have your email flooded with lowball offers.

Good luck, but I still think your most cost-effective move is to source a new long block and have a shop install it for you, and keep driving the old girl. How many miles did the last motor give you? Can you get another truck as awesome as the one you've got now for the price of that new motor?

Right there is probably the most important question you can ask whenever you're considering getting rid of a broken vehicle so you can replace it with something similar. Yeah, it's a hassle to put all the puzzle pieces in place, but in the end, can you REALLY get another vehicle that will satisfy you without spending a lot more? Especially with the beating you're likely to take if you sell it as is, you're going to lose a LOT of money on the replacement, and all to end up pretty much where you were before yours went south on you. Just food for thought--you do what you need to do, and what works best for your situation.
