how'd you mount your 5125's with srud adapter

I'm curious how you guys who are running these have the adapter mounted? Is the stud bolts running parallel with the frame, axle, angled in a lil? Man are those shocks a pain to mount up!! I have them nice and tight, but I'm going to get them at the angle I like best and just weld them up in there. So I won't have to worry about them coming lose like I have heard happens often.

I mounted the stud adapter without the shock first, hold the top nut with a socket or box wrench and impact that thing to death. There is a bolt head on the bottom of the adapter.

i wouldnt weld it on till you have everything all put together. i have them and they are angled a little funny. but each side is slightly different angles. they only come lose because people do not take the time to tighten them down all the way. best way to do it is install everything get it all tight(as tight as you can), and then drive it around for a day or two(shouldnt need more than a week) and go back and recheck things, and retighten everything back down. -you should be doing this anyways with a lift as parts will settle and "shift" with different loads. so rechecking bolts and fasteners is always a good idea.

the nuts that come with that stud adapter is a nylock nut, and should not ever back off on its own. if you are really that concerned about it, just put some blue locktite on it and call it good, but in my opinion welding it on is a bad idea.

for my 5125s i have the adapter lined up so that if you are looking at the truck straight from the back the shock should be able to pivot left to right meaning driver to passenger.

after thinking it though having the shocks pivot left to right seems more reasonable then thinking about them moving front to back.

to mount it, i did the same idea. used a socket to hold the top nut and impacted the bottom of the adapter since its bolt is welded to the adapter itself.

used blue locktite and havent had any issues since. they have been installed for about half a year now and never came loose
