How's rockauto?

Just curious if anyone has done business with them before I bought a Haynes repair manual through them and it came in pretty quick but I'm talking about the parts they sell in general if they are any good in terms of quality.

So good, so far.

I haven't had any issues with them.
I got most of my brake parts from them with I did my 5th upgrade. And I've got some parts for my dad's F-150.

I buy parts from them pretty regularly. Or at least use them to compare prices. You can always find a 5% discount code on Google. Shipping can get expensive, but I've never received a damaged part.

i use them regularly, zero issues, shipping can be high, but the 5% discount code flying around, usually takes care of that

they are great. unless I need something special for one of my vehicles, I stopped shopping around before buying from them; their prices are always either better or comparable to anyone else. quality products, huge inventory, and super fast shipping. can't go wrong.

Has anyone ordered cv axles from them? Which one did you order?

I found out I need new cv axles after I put my lift on. I have a 3in lifts in the front and they are binding while fully extended. My mechanic said he’s seen this issue before and it was caused by aftermarket axles that are smaller in diameter.

I’m just looking for a cheap alternative while I save up for CVJ axles.

No problems with Rock Auto, I've been ordering parts from them for at least 10 years.

It doesn't hurt shopping around though. Once in a while I'll find a better price with faster shipping from Amazon, or locally through Advance Auto Parts when they have a 20% discount code plus another $10-20 discount thanks to my previous purchases (signed up for their free Speed Perks program)

You can always find a 5% discount code on Google. Shipping can get expensive

They're a forum sponsor, the subform always has the most up-to-date discount codes. Shipping may sometimes seem unreasonable for smaller parts, but I find even with the shipping cost for expedited shipping the grand total is still much less than buying from the local chain store like Pep Boys.

Yes, they sell a lot of OEM Aisin/DENSO parts for way cheaper than a dealer. Exact same manufacturer, just doesn't have a Toyota logo on it.

Well, if you order 10 parts, it might be shipped from 10 different places, so you won't get all the parts in at the same time.

Other than that, customer service is quite good. But they are not a one stop shop site...regardless of their advertising...there might be a part you need they don't have and so, it is back to the dealer or some place like Partznet.

I've used RockAuto for a decade or so and love them. I had one issue with an item I purchased (item description was misleading). I contacted them and they sent me a better item and told me to keep the original, they also fixed the misleading description.

You can play the game with the parts and get most of them from the same warehouse. They have a button to click for it even, where it will mark the parts coming from the same warehouse as the stuff in your cart. Sometimes it's better to pay for the part that is $3 more, to save $5 on shipping.

I pretty much exclusively order from them, have so for many years....my garage fridge is littered with their magnets...and I only have like 2 duplicates! haha

Questions, pls help.

Anybody from Cali has ordered from Rockauto lately? I was trying to checkout 6 - 7 body parts, and when I entered my zip code a pop-up notification appeared that they(rockauto) can not ship to California.

"Part # XXXXXXX cannot ship to California because we do not have
documentation required by Proposition 65 from VARIOUS MFR. Please
choose a different brand."

I tried a lot, even if its only a bumper clip, they won't ship.

Any other auto body parts online retailer you guys can suggest?

Do exterior parts like Bumper come primed already?

Not for my 4Runner, but for my son's Tucson. I need body parts like Fender, Hood, bumper, Headlight, Fender liner. Washer reservoir, Fog assy etc.
