How's this for rust protection

How's this for rust protection. I degreased the rocker panels under. And por15 !!!

Like I said. Didn't really have rust. But with POR15 metal prep you can coat smooth metal. So I wanted extra protection from water, mud and salt.





I used por15 marine cleaner and por15 metal prep ( shit burns !!!)



This is before degreasing it. It was covered with fluid film.



This is the back of the wheel. There was minor rust developing. In all my truck being from NJ is very clean. But as everything, it rusts. And believe me. I have done everything to fix it and prevent it. Except that I didn't do this before. Before I focused mostly on frame. Anyways....





After degreasing it. And washing it with water. Those are the steps according to por15.





You can see some sanded areas. Sorry I know it's hard to see.









And POR15. Along the whole side. Both sides driver and passenger and rear.

No, pint of por15 and the prep chemicals were gallon each. Was plenty.

Por15 and other products like it cover really well and typically only require 1 coat. I bought a quart and it covered the whole frame and other areas on my sport and I put 2 coats on and there was just enough leftover to paint parts of my 5x8 trailer with. You can also make it spray able if you get S8 Reducer.

I look like I was working underground lol or something. Yea it was pretty messy. I highly recommend long pants, long sleeves , gloves , safety glasses and a mask. And just so you know. Por15 needs humidity to cure. So needs to be humid outside.

Remove any rust if wanted
Por15 marine degreaser. Let it sit for 15-20 mins.
Rinse with water after.
Let it dry it
Clean tougher areas with rag or something.
Use POR15 metal prep, ( good to use if you want to weld later on that metal or just for proper prep) let it sit for 15-20 min
Rinse with water and let it dry completely
Use por15

Thanks Bud, I will post before and after for ya. I am thinking of getting that 12" spray nozzle for Fluid Film and spray inside the frame and POR15 outside frame and complete under carriage.

I'd Eastwood internal frame coating inside whole frame. And inside rocker panels. Inside rocker panels through removing the plastic trim pieces an lifting the carpet a little. Then I'd Por15 whatever you want. Then I'd fluid film inside the frame and inside rocker panels. And outside frame.
