Hub or lug centric?

there is a huge debate about this, but the consensus is that the wheels are lug centric. when the wheels are balanced as hub centric, it doesn't work. but when they are balanced with the lug centric method (such as with a haweka flange plate adapter) they will be balanced correctly. if you search the forum and yotatech and whatnot, you can find some seemingly endless debates about lug centric vs hub centric.
here's one of the better threads: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/perfo...argers-more/173-tire-balancing-must-read.html

Thats funny because I used to have bad vibes and went thru the half dozen ways to have wheels balanced and everyone said that they hub centric but in the next breath said to have them balanced the lug/flange method. Also most wheel spacers for late model 4runners are hub centric.

OEM 4Runner wheels are both hub and lug centric, but for balancing purposes you need to use a lug centric adapter because there is no exact fit (106mm) hub adapter, it's just a cone that has a hard time letting the wheel sit straight.

Now that makes sense.
