Hunter Bumper guard on sale

got the bumper guard today and it didnt come with 4 bolts. i called em and they said they should be on the frame which they were'nt so i went to Ace and got some. i get under the ront bumper to mount the brackets and the nut they gave me screws onto the first 3 threads maybe and wont go any farther! trust me i have taken the bolts out gotten my dad to holt the bolt head with a wrench and i tried to tighten and it wont go anywhere so tomorrow ill go get som more bolts. but other than that it should be pretty easy and it is very solid and has goood quality weight to it. 25 pounds with everything im pretty sure. the top bar is a lot bigger than i thought it would be but that will look even better.

So how much of a problem was it finding the right bolts? I gound a full grille guard for my 03 for CHEAP from the same people so im thinking about ordering it.

well the directions had the size bolts u need but i think the company just tried to get out of sending me some bolts and nuts and washers but it only costed 2 bucks at most

Do you have to take the tow hooks out to install the bar?

nope. the first time u get under the truck you'll be like where the hell does this go but its easy to figure out. if u get it and for some reason cant figure it out just hit me up and ill get up under mine and take some pics

Yep, it's here. No directions, but six bolts! I thought I would have it on in 10 minutes, but I sure don't see where it goes. Did you use 2 bolts per bracket on the frame? Thanks in advance.

here is the best pic of the driver side mount...

Red= Front of bumper

Lime Green= are the bolts, nuts washers that i had to buy. the bolt is fully threaded and is a 5/16x5 hex bolts, nuts and washers

Orange= is the bracket resting on top of the frame

Purple= is a flap that i had to take off the bottom holes. i put it back on after install. mine had the flap hooked on with some platic caps that i pried off.

here is how it looks with the flap back down after install... this is passenger side though they both have the flap the 5/16x5 hex bolts were really pushing it though as u notice how close the bolt is to the bottom of bumper

once again this is the driver side... notice the flap is pulled back

the whole shabang... driver side again, and take notice that the bull bar mounts are on the outside of the brackets.

tip= make sure to put a pretty large washer on top so the bolt wont slip down, also i used locktight nuts that had grooves on it so it was like having a washer on there. also this made it easier because once u start to bolt it on it will eventually get tight enough to where all u need is a wrench and u wont have to hold the nut on there anymore. this might sound confusing so ill post a pic...

Warning!!! Not this kind as it is impossible to screw these on. i had to take them back

Probably going to use POR 15 underneath first, so it might be a while. Has anyone used POR 15 without using the prep products first? I dont see myself having the time or will to give 3 coats of goo.
