Hurculine.................whole 4runner

So my 4 runner is great, it does have holes from where I have removed the limited trim, I hated that stuff. I have always Loved white 4runners. Problem is mines black.

I planned on painting it, considered doing it myself, cosidered letting a plce such as... What that place called? Macco?

Considered getting it rhino lined, but never got a quote back.

Since it has 200,000 miles, and no carpet in side, (I have experience with hurculiner) I figured I'll never Sell it.

That said there's only two things to consider.

Cleanability and durability.

I see they sell a white hurculine. And I have experience with it, inside my truck. Thoes of you who have hurculiner bumpers, how well do they hold up?

Is this a horrible idea?

hell yeah this is sweet do ittttt! I vote yes.

I plan on Hurculining the lower half of mine to just to get rid of those damn fender flares if anything.

Its an interesting thought....especially since you don't think you'll ever sell it. What do you have to lose? Do it!:yesyes:
 
Yup, tons of people do it. And I'll tell you what(Hank Hill voice), you wont notice until you get about 10 ft. away.

When you want to get rid of your flares and molding let me know. I think I can find a new home for them on mine.
 
Haha i was gonna try the tree trunk removal method. But i guess i can remove them in an appropriate manner. =)

I wasn't expecting these responses.

My only consern is since I'm using white, should I worry about stains? I heard this happening with rhino lined vehicles.
I guess a top coat will solve that!

Also if there's any way I could make it slightly less textured.

My floors came out very gritty, thought I like it, I'd like the xterior to be a little smoother. I know someone around here did their bumper and lower half and it looked very smooth, I'm wondering if there's anything special he did.
 
Yeah ive seen the white stained before, I have a friend do his FJ80 black for that reason.

As far as the texture, I wonder if you could do a thick coat and then sand it down? a little? a lot? I dont see why you couldn't. Im sure you will pull it off just fine.
 
Was thinking about doing the same to my rear bumper. Want to see what this turns out like...

If you are planning on having a place spray the bedliner, then I suggest looking into Line-X. I have had MUCH better luck with the durability of Line-X versus Rhino.
 
Was gonna add im on the market for some fender flares as well. Nothing like having a dirty truck every time you hit a puddle of water on the road. Drives me crazy i cant keep my runner clean.
 
Just got laid off.

Im so doing this! Hardest part is going to be starting the sanding..

Anyone know the fastest way to ruff up the paint? Which grit sandpaper? Wire Wheel Brush?
 
Naval jelly! fun stuff and works. But if you sand just the usual start course and a lot of sand paper i would imagine.
 
This is going somewhere,

I just contacted duraback about their smooth liner and, what they have to say about their colors holding.
