Hurricane Isaac

I live in Louisiana but not in the direct path of Issac. I might get wind. Have tall trees around, and concerned about the safety of my runner and my car. Thinking to move it to an open space.
Fingers crossed!

nice vid.
i liked that 2nd 4runner, he fuggin blasted through it. was up over the hood at one point.

and that ranger would have been fine if he went a little slower.

That 2nd 4runner lucked out. I wonder how much water he sucked into his engine. Looked beastly, but not smart without a snorkel.

whats the fording depth for those?
im guessing 40" or so, give or take 5"

and, if much more than a few ounces got it..it would have locked the motor. it doesnt take much.

edit: i know ive had my hilux in water over the hood. no water go in the engine...not sure how...
but, it was night, and when the lights went under, it got dark! haha.

For others to understand, Charleston is like New Orleans: it is built below sea level. With time and construction, the land has been elevated, but the ground underneath is still wet and high tides (good salt water) can wreck havoc on driving. I would love to look at those undercarriages six months from now.

I lived on the corner of King and George St. while at CofC, back in the days when AC's Bar and Grille (same vibe as the Mos Eisley Cantina from Star Wars) and other bars were located below Calhoun St. Flooding was bad, but nothing compared to East Bay and Wentworth. My ex wife even made the local news today, speaking about how much it had flooded in the market area.

Good luck to all in the wake of Issac's path. Let's hope $10billion plus of Army Corps Engineered Levies can stand up to the brunt of Issac, inflicting only minimal damage.

the 1st 4runner, the white one, came back about 20 minutes later and towed the ranger out.
